"Awesome experience! Learned and saw a lot. Long but not boring at all. I do we wish we spent a little more time in the museum portion but I will just have to go back!"
"The Sterling Hill Mining Museum provides a fascinating mine tour that takes you deep into the Earth's history, complemented by a vibrant display of colorful minerals. Their shop, adorned with a diverse array of rocks and minerals, offers a delightful experience for collectors. A truly enriching visit for anyone intrigued by geological wonders!"
"Absolutely one of the best day trips to take even with young children. Our tour guide was a wealth of information with his in-depth and had his audience attentive at all times. I love discovery the rich history of NJ and Sterling is definitely one of those gems."
"Cool place but service was awful. The two women were not friendly when we were buying tickets. Then we wanted to order food and they told us we would have to wait until one of them became free. Ok no problem, but then they proceeded to walk past us 4 times and were hanging out at the front completely ignoring us the 30 minutes we waited. The place was empty may I add. Also many of the rocks for purchase were not labeled in the cases and seemed to have no perceptible order to be easy to find. The ladies acted like they were doing us a favor when we went to ring up our purchase. Definitely took away from the experience and didn’t think it was worth it. There are other places like this such as Luray Caverns in VA and Natural Bridge caverns in Texas that have a much better experience. Giving stars for the rocks/minerals/geodes and the great tour guide though if you are in the back it’s hard to hear over people’s chatter."
"I helped chaperone my daughter's class field trip earlier this year, and not knowing what to expect, was pleasantly surprised. The drive wasn't too bad from where we live (about an hour away) and we were welcome by friendly staff who also provided a wealth of knowledge about the place. Very educational and engaging. We liked the rock collecting and visiting the mines. The scavenger hunt was fun, too. There were some spots that were picturesque and pretty cool as well. Overall, a nice place for a quick, educational trip, even for families."
