"We love the Teddy Bear Day Care, and my kids do too! My kids have been attending for a little over a month now and already talk about how much more they enjoy it there over their old center. I love the structure of their day and the app is great to see what my kids are doing and eating."
"My sons have been at Teddy Bear since they were 3 months old and now my oldest is in Kindergarten and my youngest is 4 years old! We have been so happy with our experience with Teddy Bear. We’re amazed at how much my boys have learned. My oldest was very prepared for Kindergarten, thanks to all he learned at Teddy Bear! Both boys have always been excited to go in the mornings, so we know they have a great time there! The staff have become like family. They genuinely love the kids like they’re their own! We’ve also met lots of other great families there as well. I would highly recommend Teddy Bear Daycare to any parents looking for a loving and fun environment for their kids!"
"My son started at Teddy Bear just under one year old and he is now almost 5 years old! Prior to that he was at another daycare in Brownsburg for about six months and I am SO glad I made the change to TB! I was first time mother and wanted my son to be loved and welcomed and TB gave me that. From the day my son started at TB there has been love, communication, and support! I am the type of mom who wants to communicate, wants to feel comfortable bring up concerns, and hear how my son is doing. The director, Chris, and assistant director, Darlene, have always had an opened door policy and they are always working with me and other families to help our children grow and learn. You can tell that they (and the teachers) want your child to succeed in all aspects of development. My son comes home every day with some new fact or ability and it blows me away how much he has grown developmentally since starting at TB. Last spring my son had a little rough patch with his behavior and I felt like I was failing him and that they wouldn’t like him anymore and he would be labeled as a bad kid, but they always reassured me that wouldn’t happen and we found ways to work together to help him through this phase because there was a lot of other things going on in our home life that was weighing on me. At one point I was considering transferring him to a private school, but they NEVER gave up on my son even when I was being a huge Momma Bear and felt like I was only hearing bad things about my son, but they NEVER gave up on him and he got through that phase and is THRIVING! Even when it seemed we weren’t all on the same page, we worked through it so we were able to be there for my son. He loves school and has a great group of friends! They do a lot of activities, spirit weeks, and they have a Teddy Bear 500 race the month of May! We love our school and will be sad when it’s time to go to kindergarten!"
"We have been using Teddy Bear Daycare in Brownsburg since my now 6 year old son was an infant and thus have progressed from the infant's, one's, young two's, old two's, three's, four's, pre-k, and now school age classes. We also have a 3.5 year old daughter who has been attending since an infant. No matter the classroom we have always been pleased with the attention, teaching, and care that our kiddos have received. The building is clean and the staff are responsive. When I have felt the need to raise a concern, which has been rare, the staff and directors have always listened to me and taken action. My kids have truly loved their teachers and made great, lasting friendships with their classmates. While childcare is always expensive, Teddy Bear Daycare is affordable and money well spent with the knowledge my kids have gained. Let's not forget the help with potty training! Finally, the extra effort they put into extracurriculars such as the Teddy Bear 500, pre-k graduation, classroom parties for various holidays, Dr. Seuss week, etc. are the icing on the cake for the kids!"
"This review is being written to address the owners/operators of Teddy Bear Daycare center located in Brownsburg Indiana. The facility does appear to be well run. For the most part their staff appears to be competent. Their facility is also quite clean. My wife and I have trusted Teddy Bear with caring for our son for several months. Our 2 year old non verbal son has not yet had a formal autism evaluation, but has dealt with struggles pertaining to communication. His physician suggested that he get tubes put in his ears (which he since has) as she was concerned this may be a cause of his communication delay and recurring ear infections. She suggested we wait until after this to schedule a formal autism evaluation. We made all of this clear with Teddy Bear Daycare. In the meantime we have had a therapist come into the school once per week to help with his development. This was coordinated with Teddy Bear Daycare. His teachers have told us during drop off or pick up a that he’s had trouble with remaining in the classroom. He occasionally escapes the room. We assured the staff we’d try our best to help with his issues at home—and we have. Suddenly, Teddy Bear Daycare called us to inform us that our son was no longer welcome to attend their center. We were given two weeks to get him into a new daycare. Teddy Bear Daycare has a “Positive Discipline Policy” in place. This policy is very well constructed and establishes clear procedures for situations such as our Son’s. Their policy states that prior to removing a child from the daycare: “Caregivers shall document any history of recurring discipline problems and subsequent formal parent conferences in a child’s record. The center shall implement and document a specific plan of action with the child’s parents for dealing with the child’s unacceptable behavior.” This never happened. After speaking with both Chris (Director) and Stephanie (Owner) it has been absolutely heart breaking how this situation with a potentially autistic 2 year old was handled. At no point did anyone with Teddy Bear daycare set up or schedule a formal meeting or conference with us. Not once did Teddy Bear daycare call us to discuss these issues formally. We had no idea that his behavior could result in him being kicked out. Our son is a kind, loving child. Unfortunately he is nonverbal and tends to not listen well. Anyone with patience would see an opportunity with our son instead of a burden. While I totally understand that their staff must tend to other children and be concerned for their safety, I would have loved to have had a conversation with a “caregiver” to be given the chance to rectify issues my 2 year old was causing. We are an Afircan-American family here in Indianapolis and were excited about the opportunity to give our son a great experience at a center where people cared about him. Now, I am having a hard time understanding if it is his potential autism or the color of his skin that caused my 2 year old to be treated this way. It is also troubling to realize that either Chris or Stephanie was willing to spend more time writing a response to a review on Google than simply having a sit down with our family to talk about these issues like professionals. The way Chris spoke to me in person when I picked up my son for the last time was ridiculous—I am not claiming that she was foul, but her tone was that of someone who could care less about a potentially autistic minority 2 year old boy. In this situation we did not feel supported by Teddy Bear daycare. Instead we felt attacked. To Stephanie and/or Chris: you have both of our phone numbers and emails. If YOU would like to discuss anything with US any further feel free to reach out. My family does not owe you anything. These reviews will not be removed because we do not want another family struggling to navigate raising a child with diverse abilities to experience what we have. I would absolutely NOT recommend Teddy Bear Daycare to anyone looking for childcare. They deserve zero stars if that were an option."
