"The atmosphere is very welcoming and the staff is great to work with. I highly recommend this center for childcare! The owner, is professional, kind and responsive to questions and concerns."
"A is for Apple is a disgrace of a childcare facility. At first, it seemed like it would be a good fit because they are flexible and had openings available. The lead teacher and the other staff at the daycare were excellent and really seemed to care about my son. Anytime I had to ask a question and spoke with the owner, however, she was rude, passive aggressive, and did not seem to care about my child. She is extremely unprofessional and difficult to work with. My parenting was judged and I was told I hold my child too much. It appeared like she was put out by my son and that is very off-putting when you are leaving your child in the hands of someone else. It was difficult to get answers about what he was eating and how his day was from day to day because the staff didn’t appear to communicate with each other. I do not recommend this daycare to anyone that is looking for a loving place to send their child."
"I absolutely love that my son attends this daycare! I had just moved to the area and popped up on the center twice before enrolling. First time I didnt hear any babies yelling or teachers screaming outside the door. I was welcomed to find the owner Ms. Donna was actually in the kitchen making chicken strips from scratch, fresh fruits and vegetables on the counter. Next pop up, the children were controlled and was given the same blunt treatment by the owner. Yes, It was a little rocky at first as my son had just turned 1, teething badly, not walking and my off days were sunday and monday but Ms. Donna took us in and worked with us as we did with her. Yes, unfortunate things happen that may be outside or faster than the teachers control but i feel she disciplined fair and consistently. It has officially been a year and i can honestly say Ms. Donna is still the same person i popped up on, she's honest and considerate. She has been aware of all accidents taken place at her center regarding my child whether she was in attendance or not which are things i look for in the owner. Meals have been provided in full proportion to each child in my opinion, consistent snacks, outside play, thoughtful holiday gifts for the children to take home, displayed arts and crafts, field trips beyond a pull in the wagon around the block. My son is now 2: no diapers, he knows his alphabet, most colors, days of the week and can count to 20. As a former child care teacher, I am grateful for the care my child receives at this center as this is a crucial point in his life. Thank you to all the other staff that goes above and beyond: Ms. Shavon, Ms. Brandy, Mr. Mack and Ms. Darlisha for sticking with us."
"They let my friend pick up my kids. Although he was trying to be nice and help out, I didn’t say yes to this and he is not on my list of people that I said could pick up my children. When he arrived no one would answer the door. Finally MY 7 YEAR OLD SON answered the door, my son tried to tell ms Donna (the daycare owner) that they were about to leave but he couldn’t get her to wake up. She fell asleep on my babies they were practically watching each other. And had the nerve to call me angry because they left and didn’t lock her door. My kids were never happy there and always hungry when they left . They told me all they get to do is lay down. If I could give 0 stars I would"
"That 1 star review is clearly from a disgruntled parent WHO NEVER PAID A DIME BECAUSE SHE WAS GOVERNMENT FUNDED! Why would a daycare allow kids to attend when they're covered in ringworm? What type of so-called mother continues to send her children back every single day if all these alleged horror stories occurred? Why I beg you to tell me WHY did the daycare still have to kick YOU out? THIS DAYCARE IS IMMACULATE the staff is amazingly patient, friendly, & adored by all of the children which is why they have a mile long waiting list. Parents that work nights and weekends are very fortunate to have an affordable flexible program such as this & I'm disgusted at the way low-life people go out of their way to ruin the reputation of such an awesome establishment! If you didnt like it then nobody should have to kick you out in my opinion.... Dont forget the same kid that was allegedly restrained had already been kicked out of public school before these kind people welcomed her into their program... Might i add this program is a Level 3 quality rated program, equal opportunity, On My Way Pre-K, accepts all forms of payment, and the staff has nearly 100 years of combined experience in the early childhood profession. I highly recommend this program, 2 of my 3 children who attend here have special needs & they feel at home in A is for Apple just like they do with me. It's funny that nobody else got ringworm!"
