Medical Transport of Alabama 5600 Shirley Park Drive, Bessemer, AL 35022

"This is my first and probably last time I will use this service. It started out okay when I called Monday October 9, 2023 at 11:52 Am. The Lady I spoke with was very polite and told me they would arrive at 7:00 AM on Wednesday October 11, 2023. I comments that I only lived a mile from my destination. She explained (politely, the driver had to show up at 7:00 AM. Fair enough. Tuesday October 10, 2023 at 9:00 AM, I received a reminder call and was told to be ready at 6:30 AM. I mentioned that I was told my pickup time was 7:00 AM. She told me the driver arrives at 6:30 AM. Okay, 6:30 AM October 11, 2023 I was down there to be picked up.I attempted to call twice at 7:25 AM to see if there was a problem. I remained on hold until I could no longer hold. At 7:43 AM I again tried calling since my 8:00 appointment was rapidly approaching. I got a human! I was told the driver would be here that everybody wait's till the last moment and makes the driver late. The driver came a short time later. So, first I was to be picked up at 7:00 AM, then on my confirmation call on Tuesday October 10, 2023, I had to be ready to go at 6:30 AM since the driver arrives early. Maybe if I get a reply they will say they don't see my name in the system, and that's why I posted the times from my phone log. After my Doctor's appointment, I called for a return ride at 8:28 AM. I was told it would be an hour. After my first pickup of the day, I called back and canceled my ride back home. I was informed I would be charged for the trip anyway. Fine with me. They say all of their calls are recorded. I can see why VIVA sent a notice out to their members that after November 15, 2023, they will no longer be using Medical Transport. I think I can understand why."

"To the previous employee of MTA who made a review, the things you are saying are incorrect. I'm sure if you would have showed up on time and correctly did your job you would have a better understanding of how being employed works. I am positive MTA has proper insurance in order to run their company. If you have any concerns, please feel free to reach out to the General Manager. Have A Great Day!"

"If I could give this company a MINUS 5-Stars I would! They are TERRIBLE!!! I have a disabled child that had a fractured hip and had to be transported to his doc appointment in his wheelchair. They were fine when the picked up at our house, but the driver talked on his cell phone the whole way from Warrior to the Kirkland Clinic. Once here he did not communicate with us hardly at all. I had to ask for a card to call them when I was ready to go back home. I called them over an hour and a half ago to pick us up and they still haven’t shown up. My son is tired and hungry and needs to get home. I will never use this company again!!!!!!!"

"The receptionists are always nice and booking a ride is always easy but beyond that the wait time is kind of long and they make their drives run in all different directions causing some people to be late for appointments and sometimes aren’t on time. This isn’t the drivers fault at all though it is the way they schedule pick ups for drivers They need to do better in that area. Overall, I personally can say I’ve never been late to an appointment myself the routes they make drivers go on need to be planned out better. I can’t complain otherwise there are positives my insurance pays for it and I’ve never had a problem myself getting to and from places. They could do better although I’ll continue to use them."
