"My husband has worked for this company for 10 years now. Yes you will see pros and cons here. The fact of the matter is, if you’re willing to work you will make good money here, if you’re looking for a weekend off every weekend go elsewhere and good luck with that in the trucking industry!!! You won’t find it anywhere......... I promise!!! Southern Tank has been there for us in some hard times. A big shoutout to all the managers. Could the equipment be better....... absolutely...... but it is what it is. I think safety bonuses should be given, especially to the guys who give 110% like my husband. Like I said if you’re looking for perfection this isn’t for you, but if you’re willing to work. You will see the effort you put fourth in your paycheck. It’s really your choice"

"I do not rate This company. The star should have negative marks all through it. This so called company is worthless. The trucks are old and falling apart along with the trailers. I find it hard to believe this pathetic excuse of a company is still in business. The owners should be ashamed for pocketing all the money and not putting any money into their equipment or paying their driver's enough to even maintain. Driver's beware."

"In the last year the Calera terminal has undergone some serious changes. I've been a "Trucker's Wife" for 15 years,. Not even a year ago- Southern Tank had the best Terminal Manager and Dispatcher hired. Then, tragedy struck, and unexpectedly and suddenly they lost their dispatcher- the terminal manager's best friend. No surprise that 9 months later the terminal manager left the INDUSTRY after 16 years, sometimes- we have to take care of ourselves. That all said, in response to recent reviews: Please don't judge this company who had amazing hires in place- for LENGTHY periods of time. We lived in TX and moved to AL because of how this terminal operated. You will be expected to prove your 'worth' - don't step in expecting a hand out- but if you prove yourself- they will have your back- show you the utmost respect and take care of you. If you are a dedicated driver who likes OTR - they have a place for you- and if you want to be home every night they have a place for you too- just know that as of right now - (Aug, 2018) They are finding their footing in the midst of unexpected changes - but the company - itself- is worth it. After 6 years working for them and 15 years within the industry- this has been our favorite company... Give them a chance - and - if you have issues as I have read-reach out to corporate- they rarely blow people off. (Talk to the shop or drivers for those connections) ... 401k, Insurance - it's TOP OF THE LINE - I trust them from what I have seen knowing legal and business aspects- they have great things to offer- and it makes me sad that recent reviews come on the cusp of such a loss that the the whole company has experienced...."
