Reviews
"Pretty cool area. There were a ton of people around despite it being early afternoon on a weekday. It was nice to sit in different parts of this area and people watch while admiring the statues. We spent about 4 hours milling around the area, in and out of museums. I've never seen so many food trucks in a row in one place. Almost any kind of food, drink, or sweet you could want."
"Visited Sunday evening and found plenty of parking. Great place to walk around and enjoy the view of the capital. Makes a great spot to take pictures. The botanical garden is very close (walking distance) and is the Native American Smithsonian museum (both free entrance)."
"Union Square is a large grass field with a reflecting pool flanked with trees in front of the capital and begins the eastern most portion of the National Mall. The 395 freeway actually runs beneath it. The iconic statue of Ulysses S Grant looks out over the expanse. The Botanical garden is to the south while the Post Office and labor department is to the north."
"The pool is pretty. The expense food trucks is on the street of the mall. The park do have trash cans. It is right in front of the Captial. Some ducks do hang out in the water"
"The reflection pool here in front of the capital has always been a great place to hang out after looking at the museums or federal buildings. Our kids always enjoy the water, and this time of year there are plenty of ducks and baby ducklings. It also offers a great view back down the mall and the capital building."
