"Recently moved to the area. Dr Alison Redding is a phenomenal doctor whom I highly recommend. However, with that said, the hospital staff is lacking. For example: my family member urgently needed a specific medication. The Dr called it in but it required a PA. The PA was submitted at the beginning of December and has yet to go through. I have contacted the hospital about it multiple times and have been told that the person over the PA's can't seem to get it to process "due to errors." I gave them all of my contact information so we could try to work out the issues. The person never contacted me, despite marking in the records that they had. Why lie? Because of that, I am left to believe this person is either highly incompetent, or just doesn't care. Either way, it's not good. Secondly, during the multiple phone calls I have made to the nurses line to discuss this and try to get the help my family member desperately needs, I have encountered some of the rudest, most unprofessional people. Staff will cut you off mid-sentence, place you on hold without telling you, tell you information thats incorrect (i.e. the doctor will be back on this day and then you call on that day just to be told the doctor wont be back until another day and when told that i was told this specific day, the reply is "well im just reading you what the notes say and no one can do anything for you but the doctor.) Not all of them have been this way, but far too many have. If you're burned out or don't like dealing with people, perhaps you're in the wrong field. This place needs more stringent evaluations for their staff, and that is an understatement. Being as this is the main hospital in the area, it would be nice to see them serve the community in a positive way, yet thus far, I am left overall disappointed. Edit: so after reading all the reviews, it appears this place only responds to the positive. Do you not take the negative complaints seriously or do you just not care? You went from 2 stars to 1. If I could leave zero I would. Shameful. Edit 2: Changed my rating from 1 stars to 3. Although I have had many problems with some of the staff at the internal medicine clinic, inside the hospital where patients are admitted, everyone was truly amazing. Excellent care, nurses were very kind, even the food was good. Doctors figured out the problem quickly and provided excellent treatment. I was truly surprised and am eternally grateful to the people I encountered for the quality care. Still believe the staff (primarily the nurses that answer the phone and are on the nurses line) newd to be closely evaluated, the hospital itself was great"
"Went to the ER with symptoms including blackjng out and extreme dizziness. They did the min. Gave me some pill for vertigo. Wouldnt take the time to draw blood and check my vitamin levels. The nurse was sarcastic saying they sell vertigo tablets over tge counter. Had to wait 2 hours to be "seen". Was tested for the flu and covod and tested neg. Went to the primary care dr after and he actually did blood work and is getting to the bottom of it but i was even coughing up blood. What a JOKE of a hospital. Seriously"
"I’d give it zero stars if I could. Stayed in the ER with a vomiting kid for 8 hours. Barely anyone in the place but was told there were still 4 people ahead of me. I finally told them we would just take her home. If I wanted to be seen the next day i would have went home and waited. There were people in there that was before me that were getting up and walking out because they had already been there for a long time too. Conclusion is if you have an emergency take the chance and drive to Hattiesburg or even Alabama would be better."
"From out of town, I had x-rays done today, Oct 14, 2023 at this facility and the three techs in the xray department were amazing. One of them was shadowing/interning and was going to be a great fit there. Polite, professional, and kind. Perfect attributes for anyone in Healthcare. I hope someone from that hospital sees this."
"My boyfriend was treated amazingly well by the whole staff from the desk clerk and custodians to the orderlies, nurses and multiple doctors during our 4 day stay earlier this month. And the facilities have seen major improvements over the last few years that make it as nice as the hospitals in the larger cities such as Hattiesburg and New Orleans. Most importantly, His health issues were diagnosed, managed, and treated surprisingly well compared to years ago when the treatment was subpar at best. I was highly impressed!"
