Reviews of OCH Regional Medical Center
"This is about the ER. Rude, unprofessional, don't seem to care about patients unless the patient is critical. I guess it's in part due to the amount of people who come in with things that in their eyes are small. But when you have someone come to the hospital, for them it's not small. A patient comes in because they need help. If you can't respect a patient and show you care then you should pick a new profession. Show people the respect and care you would like to receive. Your job is to help others and if you can't do that then you are useless. This is from the standpoint of having family who work in the medical field who actually do their job and care."
"I had knee replacement surgery on December 4, 2023. I spent the night and I had the most wonderful care. The nurses were great. Always there when I needed them. Dr. Chad Williams and Hannah Pittman did an excellent job taking care of me. I’m very pleased about all the services I received at OCH."
"Worst hospital in the state of Mississippi. Had a friend come in for test and the incompetent nurses didn't inject the dye needed for tests. So now insurance won't pay the second round and they will have to come out of pocket. There should be a lawsuit. Sorry excuse for a place that is suppose to care for their patients."
"This hospital has really hit the bottom. I took my wife to the emergency room for a suspected heart attack. The lady at intake was really rude. Taking her time to check her in I kept looking at her and she said I gotta admit her before she goes back, I said well maybe she want die whule you do this she said maybe not. Then we were told to have a seat . After a few minutes I told the lady at the second window they need to come get her she said the triage nurse would call us back about that time the people in the lobby started telling the people that she's getting worse then they said take her on back. The triage nurse, a male, said he had to triage her before she could go back. I told him that she was having a heart attack he wanted to argue as my wife collapse on the floor I told them that they better open the door. Which they finally did and then I had to carry her back I told the male nurse to get a wheel chair. The story goes on but doesn't get any better. We used to have a great hospital but since A.C.Kelly left as administrator it has gone down hill."
"Sad to report. Care received in the ER after a fall, was lacking. There was no compassion. ER nurse seemed to be very suspicious of me for no apparent reason. The ER MD was nice, but later seemed to be tainted by the opinion of the young nurse. There wasn't an assessment performed by the nurse. She just wanted to know what medication I was taking and my pain score. Didn't try to help position for comfort. She put a bp cuff on my arm and never returned until I was being discharged. I've been a registered nurse since 1985. I still work part-time giving infusions. I've heard a lot of negative things from my patients about OCH, now I know what they have been going through. Compassion is very important when caring for the sick or traumatized patient. God allowed me to experience this treatment for a reason. OCH hasn't always been like this, or maybe I hadn't experienced it."
