St. Paul's Church National Historic Site
About the Business
Located at 897 South Columbus Avenue in Mount Vernon, New York, St. Paul's Church National Historic Site is a museum and tourist attraction that offers visitors a glimpse into the colonial history of Eastchester. Since 1665, the church has been a central part of the community, serving as a meeting place for town residents and a gathering spot for local militia.
During the American Revolution, St. Paul's Church was at the center of the conflict, with American, British, and Hessian troops using the building for various purposes. Today, visitors can explore the site and learn about its rich history through special programs, Revolutionary War encampments, scholarly lectures, and holiday music concerts.
The National Park Service emphasizes the importance of peaceful assembly and participation at the site, which also offers education programs, curriculum materials, and traveling trunks for schools. Two nearby schools were even renamed after former worshipers at the church, Rebecca and Benjamin Turner, with Rebecca being born enslaved.
For more information or to make reservations, visitors can contact the site at 914-667-4116. St. Paul's Church National Historic Site stands as a reminder of the vital role it played in colonial life and its enduring legacy in American history.

"Beautiful concert with Kathryn Jones playing the Organ which was installed around 1830 and awesome vocals from Claire and Samantha."
"This little tiny small church is so full of historical information. I was completely blown away that all of this information was located here. It's beautifully designed inside. I wish I had taken pictures. I will go back and take pictures of this jeweled place of history."
"The historical site is small, but it's worth the visit. I chaperoned a school trip and enjoyed learning all historical information from the tours. The church is beautiful and very old. The cemetery has very old graveyards dating to the 1700s."
"There is SO MUCH to learn here. The park rangers know everything from colonial times to the revolutionary war to world war 2 to today. They can talk for legit hours and hours. The tour of the church was also really interesting. The only real issue at this park is parking I think, but as long as you donβt arrive near rush hour you should be fine."
"Great and interesting part of American history. The church and museum were good but what I really enjoyed was wandering around the cemetery looking at all the old grace stones. The staff is also incredibly friendly and excited to show you the sites. I highly recommend checking it out if you are in the area."
