"My counselor was amazing but the way they run it is disgusting. If you don’t cancel two days in advanced your charged a fee which would be understandable if I didn’t have a life. As a GM my schedule changes constantly and with a chronically Ill father and a very dysfunctional family my schedule changes within seconds depending the problem. Last year my father was hospitalized with not high chances so I couldn’t attend my appt due to those circumstances, (my mom died from drugs when I was little so dad raised me Which they should know) I was told I would be charged $50 because I didn’t cancel two days in advance. So I did not go back for a while because I thought that was wrong but in the last six months, I’ve had a lot going on and thought it would be a great time to see my counselor again I had recently bought a new car and I was making my first payment, and somehow they set it up for weekly payments instead of monthly. So I was charged two times for a car payment already having had a couple freak out outs that’s day I called them to do my appointment and she asked do you have your co-pay? I said no I explained the situation and told her the money should be in my account tomorrow I can call back tomorrow and pay it. It was $25. I was already having a breakdown because I was supposed to go to Nashville the next day for a Work Convention and had to go take out a loan after my appt because I was charged twice for the car payment and needed gas to get there . She proceeds to tell me there’s nothing that we can do and you’ll be charged a $90 no call no show fee. As she tells me this, I begin having a panic attack as we’re getting off the phone audibly, crying and in distress over the phone with my therapy office mental health office. Tell me that’s not crazy. But you can fill out a dispute form and they will see if your reason qualifies for us to waive it for you. And you do get one waive a year I think but on top of that I’ve been called and told sorry your counselor had something come up so we’re gonna have to cancel your appointment today and reschedule. Did I get a 90$ cancel fee sure didn’t did I ask off for that day to make sure I could attend my appt I sure did. It’s just a very uncaring facility but the counselors are amazing to speak with they know what their doing."
"Extremely disappointed with this facility and how they handle their clients. I found out in mid Nov that my insurance would be changing on Jan 1. My previous provider did not accept my new insurance and I had been on the waitlist for 4+ months with this office. Conveniently, they had an opening in early December so I informed them of my new insurance and was told that would be fine, so I scheduled and attended 2 appointments. Following my second appointment, I asked the front desk staff if I needed to provide information about my new insurance and they said they would do that at my next appointment so I scheduled and left. Trying to be proactive since they spend the first few minutes of your appointment charging you for the appointment, I called the day before my appointment on my lunch break to proactively provide new insurance info. After being on hold for 10+ minutes, I was told that my care provider did not accept my new insurance but others in the office did. I cancelled my appointment and planned on finding a new provider altogether. 2 weeks later, I was charged a late cancellation fee. Long story short, the manager said there were no notes in my file of where I informed them of my new insurance, therefore there were not in the wrong. After explaining my story and that the entire reason I came to them in the first place was because I was told they accept my new insurance, he continued to said that no one remembers me saying anything about my new insurance, basically calling me a liar, and refused to refund the unauthorized charge. The facility is very hard to find with little signage, and a creepy long white hallway to their main office. None of the staff ever felt friendly. The only thing good about this place is the care provider herself but honestly, dealing with the facility is not worth the stress."
"Initially, I was told they cared and wanted to help me, but with recent events, I now question that. A family emergency & Covid 19 took me out of state for about 8 months. The counselor knew my situation and why I could temporarily be pulled out of state. I was told that if I was out of state that I could not be counseled because counseling could only be done in the current state according to the rules. Recently, I received a letter terminating me as a patient. No call. No, “Hey are you okay? What’s going on? Are you alive,” Nope a letter. So I emailed them back expressing my dissatisfaction with receiving such a letter without so much as an inquiry about my welfare or hearing from me first. Eventually we talked on the phone. Last week I was told by a staff member that she would call me Thursday or Friday, but I did not hear from her until Monday. In that phone call the options offered to me was to start over, see a different counselor, & pay an higher fee than what I was originally paying. I explained my issues with that, but yet these were the only options offered. I explained that I was willing to wait however long it took to see the counselor I started with, but all I was told was she had too many patients & that I needed to pay a higher fee than what I had been paying. I called back later that same Monday and said that I wanted to speak with the counselor directly. The staff member stated she would leave a message. It’s now Thursday and I still have yet to hear back. She said that the office called me in January & February before terminating me. Really because I don’t recall getting those calls, and if that be true why is it that my termination letter came in the mail dated for October and not shortly after those January & February calls that were supposedly made. In addition, if they could not reach me with those phone calls why did no one reach out to my emergency contact to see what was going on? I mean what the heck is it for if you cannot reach the patient. Who terminates a patient without reaching the patient or to see what’s going on first? Then when there is an apparent disconnect pawns them off on another counselor for a higher fee? Do you they not know the pain of establishing rapport and trust all over again or rehashing the trauma to someone different all over again? Obviously not! Funny, I was told that testing was okay by my counselor to establish a trust that I find repeatedly gets violated. From how this was handled and the lack of keeping promises such as calling back in a timely manner or when they say & proving that caring & helping is not just word spoken but action displayed is a test failure in my eyes. Where is the understanding and compassion to circumstances that I start with there? It’s not like the counselor did not know my situation. I was told that they had grown as a business since I’d last been there. Good for you guys, but grown how? To care about the bottom line the almighty dollar?! They will know who I am by this review. They may not like my review, but how else am I supposed to feel and what else am I supposed to think when they are not hearing & trying to help me? When it’s clear my termination was not correctly nor fairly handled? When it’s clear that I can’t get anyone to call me in a timely manner or when they say? I’m disappointed and very angry that I’m being treated like this. Who knows maybe this review will get me the call I asked for because nothing else has worked at this point."
"They actually listen and try to work with you, which automatically makes them better than 99% of therapists. Also, they charge 1/3 of everyone else's price."
"Really professional an make u feel more then welcome! Vallis is a great place for so many different reasons. I would recommend for sure!"
