"I had my annual last week with the Nurse Practitioner Betty. I was not impressed. I sat waiting for her freezing for at least 25 min. And then it was question after question untill the conversation became about her. I am already in an uncomfortable situation and it drug on and on. After my exam I sat there waiting to get dressed and more questions. Then, another nurse knocked, and came in. I know they see woman all day long , but I was so uncomfortable, all I wanted to do was get dressed and get out. I love Dr Kakani, but this apt. Was a horrible expierence. To add, last year I had a NP. and she was fantastic young, fun and full of energy , very much was about the apt. and my privacy."

"Dr. Kakani still uses BMI as a determinant of health (proven to not be any indicator of health, and was never meant to measure health by its creator), pushes hormonal treatment for endometriosis (I had excision surgery from an expert which is the gold standard of care for the disease, pushing medications to make you go through menopause is uninformed and ignorant), and she did not seem to care at all about my symptoms that I went in to see her for. At the end of the appointment she asked me if I was on birth control, and then told me strokes are her concern when women come in. If strokes are her concern, she shouldn’t be prescribing birth control at all. Overall, extremely unimpressed with her and her general attitude and the “care” she provided to me, if you could call it that."

"I had a UTI for 7 months because Dr. Kakani's staff just wouldn't do their jobs. I never even saw Dr. Kakani through any of this. I talked to her on the phone for maybe five minutes one time. I had to get an attitude to even get that! She called me in some antibiotics, but didn't really explain what it was for. The label on them made me very unsure, so I refused to take them. I later found out the particular bacteria I had was resistant to what she called in. I don't trust they even tested my swab now. I feel like they listened to my symptoms and just guessed. They just kept telling me to douche with baking soda. I did three different rounds of that and it made zero difference. It took seeing a different doctor to get this cleared up. I'm really hurt that Dr. Kakani and her staff treated me this way. I was scared and depressed for months because I had no idea what was happening to me, and Dr. Kakani's staff made it clear they did not care. Please go see a different doctor. You deserve so much better."

"Dr. Kakani is the best gynecologist I've ever met. Her staff was so nice and really helped calm my nerves about my appointment. The office was a bit busy but Dr. Kakani made sure to check in with me and not rush through my appointment. She placed an IUD for me which was much less painful than the first time I had gotten one inserted at another office, and she told me everything she was doing before she did it. I also had a pap smear before the IUD insertion, which she did very gently without causing any discomfort. I'm so happy I decided to choose her office after moving to north Alabama, and I'm so happy that I will have a great doctor to see in the future."
