"Dr Sharon Gray’s office is great. They always return my calls, they always get back to me if I leave a message on MyChart. They always handle my refills with my pharmacy. I’m surprised to see that anyone has had a problem with a referral. I’ve had several referrals over the last several years that were required by my health insurance. Dr. Gray’s office has always sent the referrals for me. Their referral coordinator has never given me any problem. More than once, I’ve needed a referral on the same day that I asked for it and had no problem getting it from Dr Gray and Staff. I will admit, I’ve had to nag other offices about checking for my referral and I’ve had to nag my insurance company about pre authorization forms, but that’s not Dr. Gray’s office’s fault. They can only do their own jobs. I think some insurance plans allow you to see anyone “in network” Those plans are too expensive for me, but it might be helpful for someone having trouble getting their various doctor’s offices and appointments coordinated. Specialist bills can be extremely high, I wouldn’t want to get stuck paying one. I also see Judith Cooley, the nurse practitioner at Dr Gray’s office, she’s great, as well. They always listen to me and I ask a lot of questions. They give me the clearest most honest answers they can possibly give without setting dangerous or unrealistic expectations. One time I did have to wait a little while to be seen for my appt. ( I go every 3 months due to various conditions) The time I had to wait longer than usual, was due to some sort of emergency in the building and some other patient was taken in an ambulance to the hospital. I say, go see Dr. Gray. I don’t even live in Gardendale anymore. I stick with them and drive 30 minutes to see them because I need thorough dependable care and I get that care from their office."
