"Nice to find out something new about Louisiana history, Chief Justice..."
"Louisiana state run museum commemorating one of the Governors of Louisiana E D White 10th governor of Louisiana and where his sone E D White Jr who was a politician, jurist and a Supreme Court Justice. The gentleman working was very knowledgeable and just had so much information to share about the history. The knowledge shared did not lean to anything political and was very cut and dry. Things could really go either way with this, but it is very educational and informative."
"Such a great little hidden gem this house! We learned a lot from the local tour guide who happens to be an university professor working on historical research. For sure you have to ask him to give you the tour! He was so knowledgeable about the history that it made the tour much much more interesting. On top of it it's free (donations welcome!) Make sure you stop and learn about E.D. White !"
"We almost passed the site due to it's unpretentious entrance; so glad we didn't. This site is low-key, but does a wonderful job of telling the story of two of Louisiana's favorite sons, White the Governor and his son White the US Supreme Court Chief Justice. They also do a wonderful job of of explaining White's sugar cane operation. Fascinating stories. And don't mist the magnificent 400 - 450 year old live oak trees around the house."
"In my opinion, one of the most under rated State Historical sites in Louisiana. Very helpful and knowledgeable staff. Awesome place for photos. Choose either a self guided or assisted tour of the home and grounds. FREE! Clean restrooms, if needed in the welcome building. Great stop and it can either be a quick stop or all day. It's just that good. FREE!"
