"Beautiful river with great fishing equals a great time for the entire family. There is also a kayak and canoe rental shop maby two or three minutes up the road."
"The location is across the street from Matt Gardner homestead. As I pulled up to the boat access. I missed the opportunity to get a photo of the blue herring. Being here is quiet, soothing & comfortable. I noticed butterflies, tadpoles & small fish. Plus, there are many types of water skimmers skipping around. I've also seen people fishing. Make sure to bring life jackets for the children. Bring your own chairs , floats ,coolers, food needed & drinks preference. bring a trash bag to clean up your own mess."
"We put in at the Matt Gardner boat ramp and kayaked 12 miles to the Veto ramp. The trip is beautiful but exhausting in a kayak and pretty good fishing with long stretches of flat water."
"This was a hidden little treasure we happened to accidentally stumble upon in the middle of a hot day along our trip. We stopped a entry and it was an awesome find. Cool river, near boat ramp with a couple different banks to enter from. Swimming is permitted and it definitely helped cool off the whole family. Even found a few chill artifacts. Kids had a blast water was nice and the constant flow kept it clean enough to enjoy. We even stopped back by on our way home although we couldn't stay as long as we wanted it was worth the 4 mile detour from i-65! beautiful trails cool bridge"
"While I didn't tour the buildings (think you may need an appointment?), I was able to view the well-maintained grounds from the old roadway/pull off. Glad this piece of history is being preserved!"
