"So after 2 years I moved out of state and am finally comfortable with telling my story about this hospital. I went into the ER one night complaining of abdomen pain and not being able to bend over or walk with out pain. I had a bruising rash around my belly button. I went in and the ER doctor completely dismissed my concerns and treated me like a burden. 30 minutes after telling me nothing was wrong a nurse came in and gave me a antibiotic and told me to take it. I had no idea why I was prescribed this medication or why I was getting it and when I asked he said the doctor diagnosed me with a uti. Embarrassed and wanting to leave I took the medication and left. That same night at 4 am I was rushed to the hospital by my partner because I passed out from pain and thanks to the doctor that was there that night he listened and looked at my rash and got me in for a cat scan. I had an INFECTED intestinal strangulated hernia which is life threatening and was rushed to surgery. My surgery experience was horrible. I was giving a med to help with anxiety before the procedure and slept for two hours and woke up still in the waiting area of the surgical unit. I was fully aware when I was taken back to surgery and was having a panic attack. The anesthesiologist was also rude and put the mask on my face and proceeded to tell me it was gonna burn. My whole head felt like it was on fire. I have never felt that pain from anesthesia. I was supposed to be hospitalized but due to not having rooms I was sent home. I was given a antibiotic I was allergic too and couldn’t leave my bed for a week due to pain. I have never experienced such a bad hospital visit and it has given me so much anxiety that now I get anxiety just going to the doctor. I am also not the type of person to do this which is why it has taken me so long but I hope this helps someone else make the decision to go somewhere else if they can and get proper care."
"Miss Tara Odom of the records department is a great professional. She worked quickly to gather and send me my medical records via email. She gets five stars. The hospital only gets four stars from me. Thank you Miss Odom"
"The ER has changed so much over the years, that there is now a metal detector and you have to show your ID when you sign in. The rooms are for the most part clean and the nurses are for the most part (unless they work double shifts and or are tired) they will be right on time with getting to you. Sometimes there’s a back up, and it can feel like you are waiting forever. The doctors that I’ve seen over the last few years at the hospital are still there practicing and have good bedside manners (Dr Sumerall, Dr Butler, Dr Richardson, Dr Francine Glenn, Dr Aycock just to name a few). If you have a outstanding nurse, stop by the metal detector on the way out to get a daisy nomination and fill that out so that your nurse who took care of you can get an award for being an outstanding nurse with compassion. Depending on the times you go, it can be backed up with the waiting room full. But late at night and early morning seems to have been an easier chance of going to the back at a quick speed. Lastly, if you for some reason have to go to a consultation room and are waiting for the coroner to talk to the family, the nurses and doctors that come in to chat are full of love and compassion. "
"I was blessed with a supportive, skilled, and friendly team of people during the three days I was in the hospital. From the nurses to techs to PT, respiratory, and phlebotomist (and others I’m likely forgetting to mention) I always felt cared for and important. When I needed to call for a nurse, the response time was impressive. What could have been an anxious time for me was an all-around good experience, as I felt like I was in good hands."
"I delivered my baby here. Not only are they not up to Joint Commission safety standards but at 9.5 cm the nurse broke the toilet and they made me switch rooms. It was a terrible experience and there was a nurse who claimed she was knowledgeable when she clearly wasn't. She couldn't place the IV correctly, she didn't use alcohol swab on the IV fluid before administering drugs. She didn't listen to anything I asked for and did way too many internal checks (every single time she came into the room). It was an awful experience start to finish and I will be glad to move and deliver the next baby away from this hospital."
