Reviews of C & S Repair
"I have been to Chris for a couple years off and on for a few different vehicles. In one specific situation I took my Ford focus to a different mechanic- they told me the repair would be $700- I took it to Chris and he fixed it for $50 and the car ran perfectly. Now obviously that isn’t always going to be the case with every vehicle but it was for mine. He also fixed a hybrid vehicle issue I had in a timely manner so I could get back to work. Chris is one of the most honest and knowledgeable mechanics I have ever met. You can ask him about any year or make of vehicle and he knows just about everything including common issues. He is not going to try to bleed you dry and he is going to be honest about any issue that you have. It’s hard to find reliable honest people these days but I can assure you he is one of them. In my opinion and from my experience in warren and fountain county- even into Illinois, Chris at C&S repair is the absolute best."
"We were 650 miles from home in our old RV. Had a flat tire due to improper tire stems for a dually. Chris was awesome. He stopped what he was doing and helped right away. Installed proper stems on both sides, inner tires. Got us back on the road. Thanks Chris. We really appreciate it!"
"Within the last year, I had two minor repairs performed on my vehicle. Work was done quickly, and at a reasonable price. Unfortunately, I made the comment that another mechanic who works on my car, use to own this business. I had an interest at the time, to have Chris the mechanic, replace the clutch in my car. The owner, a female who's name I cannot recall, gave me a quote. She proceeded to talk to Chris about the job. She returned from the service area to inform me, that they wouldn't be working on my car. She stated that if I wanted a clutch replaced, I could take it back to my other mechanic. First of all, they have a right to refuse service to anyone, for any reason. However, my car is my financial livelihood and seeking additional mechanics, insures my vehicle is maintained within a reasonable time period. Mechanics sometimes are busy, which I understand. Having more than one is a wise decision, in my opinion. ...apparently, it is not I believe in this case, ego has taken a front seat over professionalism. If pride in their workmanship was their first priority, then surely their chances of a returning customer would've been much better. Most, if not all of the mechanics who've worked on my car, take pride in their work. Secondly, most of my current mechanics, don't work on my car exclusively. It's this level of professionalism, that insures that many of their customers may return to their businesses more often. However, I'm happy to see their business apparently is thriving. Turning me down over such a thriving business, would've certainly been more professional than letting me down, over an over inflated ego. Yes, it's quite apparent you don't want my business. It's also apparent, that many who read this review, may not want to do business with your establishment as well. Thank God you'll never know. (unless you may need them at some point) Btw Chris: Australia's fires aren't heating up the earth, as you had mentioned. It's the warming of the earth, that is causing massive fires in Australia and elsewhere. ...it's not the heat that creates the engine ...it's the engine that creates the heat I believe you have the cart before the horse(power)"
"My son recently took his truck in for repairs, was quoted around 80.00. He then received a phone call that they had to order parts and now the bill was going up, never even asked if we wanted them to order just took it upon themselves. Before all would be said and done more things just happened to be wrong, and the final total was several hundred. Finally get the truck back, the ball joint that was supposed to be fixed was rolling around in the back seat, back the truck goes. Should have received a refund, but nope, but at least he fixed the ball joint. Not quite a week goes by and there is a sound coming from the tire in the front. When he put the things back together a screw was a lost, didn’t have the right size so a longer screw was put in, which in turned has left a groove in the roter (sp). While a decent place of business would have been accountable, no offers to replace the now damaged part, just cut off some of the screw and sent my son on his way. This is a small town, we have taken vehicles here before and it was great, something has drastically changed. Poor work, no accountability, poor communication, and taking advantage of a young man. They do not deserve anyone’s business."
"Chris is a great mechanic. You can trust he will do the repairs correctly the first time, charge a fair price, and be quick about it too."
