"As a HOG owner and purchasing my Heritage Springer Classic new from the former dealership and being a well cared for 2000 with fewer than 20,000 miles. You can only imagine my disappointment when riding last Sunday and encountering a roofing nail in my wide whited walled rear tire. While researching I read that a motorcycle tire over six years old is recommended for replacement even with ample tread. So Promptly Monday morning I called Harley Davidson of Fort Wayne and was greeted by a courteous receptionist that transferred me to parts and service. The gentleman who answered was also prompt and courteous as well. No waiting in cue or having to go though numerous auto prompts pushing twenty different numbers and spending countless time on hold was a nice gesture. But here’s where they lost all appreciation and future business(support businesses that go above and beyond supporting the products they’ve sold). I was informed by the man on the other end that HD of FW refuses to do any service on a Harley that’s over 20 years old. I said this is just a tire change? I said if I took the tire off myself and brought it into your shop you could immediately identify it as being on my 2000 Springer? Can you imagine being from out of town with a flat tire and needing emergency repairs and this being the response? I implore everyone to do their research when considering a new or used motorcycle purchase and to think twice about the follow through on services over the long haul when a dealer can’t even change a Dunlop white wall tire on a bike that was sold by them. Anstett went above and beyond in expectations with prompt service. Support small local businesses that remember what customer service is and haven’t became to big that they don’t care about their customers."
