Best Western Montgomery I-85 North Hotel

"I booked a 2 queen bed room for 2 nights because our sons were riding motocross at Monster Mountain motocross park in Tallassee. The location is great just because it’s right off the exit but that’s the only positive about this place. The whole motel reeked of marijuana, it was extremely loud because of wild guests on both sides & above us. We got up after the first night to find that my truck window had been broken out & several items stolen. We canceled the second night & got an Airbnb. The hotel staff couldn’t cancel our second night because I had booked with points so I had to call the 800 number. There are several motels & restaurants vacant in this area with windows broken out & homeless people squatting in them. The drug problem & homelessness is out of control here & it shows. The officer that responded to my call said that this was a common occurrence & that I was lucky I didn’t lose more than I did. I highly recommend avoiding this area/exit if you will be staying anywhere near Montgomery"

"The hotel itself was a great stay. The location was not the best and someone was smoking pot in their room on the 3rd floor hallway smelled from it. Would stay here again regardless of how other guests treated the place."

"Over the years, we have stayed here as it is our stopping point between Houston and Atlanta. Last time we began to see a downturn of the hotel itself. This time again we find after getting prepared to retire, the a/c did not work - we opened our windows. Thank goodness we were on the second floor. The elevator and the hall of the 2nd floor smelled of pot. My husband went for breakfast with nothing to eat as they had miscalculated what was required. And he told me the coffee was horrible. I relayed all of this to the desk clerk and requested a return of my money. She said the manager, who would have to handle that, would not be in for 3 days. I left my name and number. We shall see - Nancy Frank"

"DO NOT STAY HERE!!! We arrived. Was treated by somebody who did not know what to do. Somebody took care of us (the ONLY person we saw in days who actually did something). There was a plastic bag over our smoke detector. When I called the front desk I was accused of putting it up to smoke. She then told me if I smell smoke just to call her. Everything was dirty, rusty, and nobody that worked there was doing anything. Sitting around in the breakfast area. When we spoke to the fire department they informed us to not stay in this area because they make the properties look great online when they are nothing like that in person."

"Sorry, but I have to say that the floor in our room was NOT very clean. Toilet and sink were cleaned OK. A big bug was in the tub area. I just hope that the bedding was clean for our stay. I expected more being a Best Western. Also, the breakfast was not up to par. No regular coffee. Had a sausage and flat egg piece, but no biscuit, so my husband chose a bagel to make a sandwich, didn't work well because the begal was frozen!!"
