"Had some of the best cocktails at the bar here one day celebrating an anniversary. The smoky Bloody Mary (uses whiskey) was absolutely delicious. The Miru Old Fashioned is probably the best old fashioned I’ve ever had—it’s smooth, slightly sweet, and has a unique and silky mouthfeel. They use Nikka Coffey Grain whisky which I was introduced to through this drink and it really works, along with the black Okinawan sugar and what I’m gonna go out on a limb and say what might be a rice wash going on for that silkier mouthfeel. We also got some of the fried tuna rice which were a great combination of crunchy and chewy. Looking forward to going back and trying some more food. The ambiance is very lovely and elevated, with large windows looking out at downtown. Service was great, our bartender was helpful and the front of house friendly. It’s pricey, as you might expect from a higher end bar in a hotel in downtown Chicago."

"Great atmosphere! But this place is over hyped. Chicago has a lot of great high end Japanese fusion restaurants and this was a disappointment. We ordered a variety of items that were either recommended by the server or similar items that we would order at other Japanese restaurants. Food was just ok. I want to give it more stars but it was not the best."

"Our family friend took us to Miru this weekend as we were visiting from Houston, Texas. We had high expectations. The host staff were so kind and welcoming. But the rest of the experience was not as good. Yes the atmosphere was excellent but food was mediocre. Waiter was also kind but he forgot about our drink and one of the menu items we had ordered. In addition my espresso Martini was the worst I have ever had. I am not sure I want to recommend this place. However we enjoyed the overall experience with our friends after all."

"If you have a friend or family visiting from out of town, definitely bring them here! Reservations are a must! I love how classy and modern the interior is with nice big open windows. The service here is always unmatched. Everyone takes care of you and will accommodate to your dietary needs. I highly recommend the crispy tuna, mushroom rice, mocktails, cucumber salad, and of course, probably all the sushi!! Perfect for date night or a small gathering of birthday celebrations! Highly recommend."
