"A true review from a Texas guy visiting Chicago. We had a blast at this restaurant. We enjoyed the the famous deepest pizza. Their secret recipe of sauce is well kept from 1944. They have an excellent full service bar and the garlic bread is must have keep in mind when you go there, put your order for pizza because it takes anywhere between 45 minutes to an hour to bake one appetizers. Don’t take that long but if you know what exactly want to eat is better to order in advance., the sitting area is very traditional, and will take you back in the age when this restaurant was built overall a very nice experience. If you’re traveling to Chicago, this is a must try place."
"First time in Chicago, had to get Chicago style pizza! Came with my sister in law and niece and daughters so we were a big gaggle of girls. Seated quickly, super friendly staff. It was about 5 so right at dinner. The food was great. It was fun, there was a nice guy with a camera offering pictures. One free for the table and you could buy other ones. We got one of all the cousins together that was fabulous. It's a little cramped inside but overall worth the visit."
"Wow I had to wait 45 minutes to get my personal sized deep dish Chicago pizza. After tasting it, it wasn't worth the wait. The bottom was almost burned and the toppings just were blah. I heard about this legendary location - the place where deep dish pizza was invented. The restaurant is a pub (TV on sports all day) with the bar integrated into the dining area. The space is a little tight, service was okay but the cooking time was crazy long. I sat alone and stared outside the window for 45 minutes. Never experienced such a long wait. Good thing I wasn't starving. I might have eaten my arm before the pizza came. Liquor price is cheap but the choices are limited. This location is good for people who want a casual outing with friends without breaking the budget."
"Pizzeria Uno was Established 1943 and was The Birthplace Of Deep Dish Pizza. It was obviously a must for me! Luckily, it wasn’t a far drive. I was just hoping that it wouldn’t be a bad decision. I came here with my significant other and my friend. We were seated almost instantly. I enjoyed the dark lighting they had. To start things off, I ordered a Diet Pepsi and a Pomegranate Margarita. The Diet Pepsi was awesome and included Free Chicago Refills. Every cup of Diet Pepsi I had, was in fact, awesome. The Margarita was fantastic! It was concocted flawlessly in my opinion. For food, I ordered an Ind. Numero Uno Deep Dish Specialty Pizza. It included Extra cheese, an abundance of fresh sausage, just the right amount of pepperoni and fresh mushrooms, onions and green peppers. It was 14.49. The pizza was good for the most part. The sauce and ingredients met together to form a nice taste. I wish the form of the pizza held together better. Besides everything else, they had a photographer come to our table and offered to take our photos. She took two and returned later to show how they came out on prints. We got to keep the first one for free. She offered others, but we declined. The service was exceptional. I was given everything I needed fairly fast. I didn’t have an issue with anything in that field. Overall, I’m glad I went here! It definitely felt like an achievement to eat at The Birthplace Of Deep Dish Pizza. I might even return here again someday. Date of visit: 01/30/24"
"One of the first Chicago style pizza, if not the first. The deep dish pizza comes in 30-45 min - don’t get a too large pie, it’s most likely to be enough as it is quite thick and dense. You can’t really call this a pizza but it’s acceptable as a savoury crusted pastry. Good by itself and good to try."
