"I cannot even begin to explain fully into words my love for my first time experience with this restaurant. I don't easily get won over by a business and its services but CBC has proven what I desire does in fact exist. I am a history nerd to the extreme so their nod to the CCC history in the area is great. Their simplistic approach to decor is honestly refreshing in comparison to most places which overly decorate to overstimulate the senses. But to focus on the the most important aspect of the reason I leave this review, the food! The Civilian Burger is honestly one of the best burgers I have ever had. The bacon jam is honestly the best flavored bacon jam I have ever had. The combination on the burger itself was heavenly. The fries ordered crisp resulted in some of the best quality fries you can have. I was also able to sample the slaw they have which by the I REALLY need the recipe for because it has to be the best slaw I have ever had! The slaw has to be some of the best I have ever had but you must try it! 100% this place is the place to try if you are in the area!"

"1st stop at Civilian Brewing and my wife and I loved it. We tried 5 different beers between us and really enjoyed all of them. Ended up getting a growler of the Baltic Porter to take home. We started with a pretzel appetizer with the beer cheese and beer mustard. The pretzel texture was just right. Both dips were good on their own and good mixed together too. Could have used just a little more salt on the pretzel. For our entrees my wife had the falafel sandwich on naan and fries and was pleased with both. I also sampled them and agreed. I don’t know if the fries were made from fresh sliced potatoes but they sure tasted like it. My wife also had a slice of blackberry cheesecake that she said was fantastic. I had the grilled chicken salad. It’s a basic dish that almost every place does but I can’t say I’ve had one I enjoyed more than this one. High quality, fresh ingredients really made the difference. Also the combination of ingredients worked well together. A nice, fresh mix of greens, tender grilled chicken breast, chopped bacon slices, diced tomatoes, diced red onion, pecans, shredded cheddar cheese, and a very good vinaigrette dressing rounded it out. The two ladies working the bar and dining area were busy as the pub probably had 20-30 people in the early afternoon yet we never had to wait on service. Very friendly and attentive. Also informative as this was our first visit and had some questions. Drink and food orders were timely and correct. The bar, dining area, and bathroom were all nice and clean. We’ll definitely add Civilian Brewing as a stopping place the next time we’re in the area."

"A charming restaurant near Mccormicks creek state park. They have a list of their beers while all sounded good but we did not get any since we went a bit early in the day. The large pretzel was excellent and came with dipping sauces which were also great. You can top the Mac and cheese with a list of options, we chose the pulled pork. It comes without any sauce so we asked for some BBQ on the side and WOW! It was spectacular. We will definitely be back when we’re in the area."
