"Food: 5/5 (foodies will rejoice!) Service: 5/5 (great staff!) Atmosphere: (lovely environment!) I'm completely blown away by the level of ramen that comes out of this restaurant. Strings Ramen Shop - Hyde Park (just like my experiences at Strings on the Northside of Chicago and Chinatown, Chicago) has been breathtaking. The level of taste, visual, and skill that Strings had with making this ramen is amazing. Located in the Chicago Hyde Park area, Strings Ramen Shop is a restaurant everyone needs to experience. From the food, service, and atmosphere, everything is wonderful. As I mentioned above, the ramen is breathtaking. The textures and taste of the Tonkotsu Ramen are very nice. A big bowl of this any season is ideal, and the other menu items are just as good. The service is great! The staff is nice and knowledgeable of the menu. The water cups stay full, and the staff attend to every need. The atmosphere was clean and full of culture. Watching documentaries of where ramen shops originated, you can see some similarities. I appreciated the atmosphere. Great restaurant from Hyde Park and the other two shops. This ramen needs to be on everyone's bucket list when visiting Chicago."
"Decent ramen place in Hyde Park. Honestly liked the appetizer gyozas much more, the sauce and chili oil they bathe it in is delicious and the ramen is alright, but it’s a decent place to get a quick lunch or dinner. They have a spice challenge which is pretty cool too!"
"Tsukemen!! - decent. Good by Chicago standards. Noodles are great and the beef tongue is super tender. Broth is a bit sour. Premium tonkotsu - the broth is delicious. The chashu is a little dry, but the pork belly and beef tongue make up for it."
"Strings is such a reliable place to get noodles, ramen, and rice bowls. Loved the new black garlic tonkatsu ramen and the sashimi bowl! The fish tasted fresh and everything was very well seasoned. The service was also amazing! Our server made sure to get us everything and also help us open out wine bottles from BYOB. They were super accommodating and kind. Would definitely recommend if you’re looking for a chill place to grab asian food in Hyde Park."
"Really nice place to get some ramen on a cold day. Generous servings as well! Recommend the Tonkotsu Ramen, or the Meat Lover's Don if you're more of a rice bowl person."
