"Let's start with the food was really really really good. I personally didn't care for the mac & cheese or the bourbon corn. The mac and cheese tasted a little "fake", which was surprising considering how great the other sides were. I also felt a little rushed. It wasn't 3 minutes that we sat down and the waitress asked us if we were ready to order. We had to send her away around 4 times before we were ready. Overall the food was really good and we will be back."
"As soon as we walked in we were greeted by everyone working. We ordered and our food came out quickly and was hot and delicious. Candied yams were more like a dessert but still great flavors from all the food. When we were done and about to walk out everyone told us goodbye. We will definitely return when we come back to Indianapolis."
"I’ve wanted to try His Place Eatery for a super long time due to all the hype behind it and the fact I had a gift card to use. I finally got to do so today. We walked in at about 11:45 AM and they weren’t too busy. The dining room is a little small so large parties may have a hard time arranging in here. Our waitress was very friendly and kept our drinks filled. As for the food, I got the Chicken & Waffles with Mac n cheese & fries and my partner got the rib tips with baked beans. The Chicken & Waffles was good! The waffle was toasted nicely, the chicken was seasoned great, the Mac was cheesy and delish. The fries were crispy. Their portions are huge too! I couldn’t even finish it all. My partner said the rib tips were good. Overall, if you’re on the east side of Indianapolis looking for good soul food, give His Place a shot! I’ll definitely be coming back."
"I phoned in my order & the staff was pleasant from start to finish. I ordered pork chops(grilled) with requested grilled onions, collard greens, Mac & cheese & banana pudding( that didn’t stand a chance of existence). Once I entered, I almost was taken aback from being greeted so quickly. Staff was so pleasant they made me smile immediately. All the beautiful staff gave a just as beautiful service. I was shown my order to make sure I was ok with everything. I couldn’t wait to eat at this point. Chops were so tender, greens have a special hit of heat to it, Mac wasn’t traditionally baked but still good. But the banana pudding didn’t stand a chance! I travel for work so I don’t get to eat my favorite comfort food often. I was so pleased."
