Barringers Tavern (re-established 2019)

"Food was pretty good. My wife had the Tenderloin and would definitely get it again. I had a Cheeseburger and it was very good as well. Pizza was definitely the favorite item ordered as I looked around at what others ordered. Service was spotty. There were long periods of time our server was missing. Actually, I couldn't locate her and had to go into the bar to get our check. Never did find her. Great old restaurant/bar, and it's definitely significant history. I always find it interesting to have food in a place where so many others have had food for decades and decades."

"The place to go if you love good fabulous food and people. Great atmosphere. And prices too. Not to mention they have the best wings that I've ever had. The services impeccable. They were so good. I purchased a order to take home with me."

"Unexpected great food with a lot of fun. TVs for sports, full bar, trivia and a hard working staff. I had the Prohibition Pork, added bacon with onion rings and a side Caesar Salad. Food was great, I'll be back!"

"Running around Indy today and searching neighborhoods for local eats prior to heading South. Found Barringers on Meridian, passed this place a few times but never stopped. You never know what to expect with small bar and grill settings, it's on the small side which is ok. Carried a middle class, middle age patronage with a split of a dozen tables or so on the "family side" and 4 or 5 on the bar side that seems to blend together, and of course a bar. They also have a small patio area out back. Beer was good and cold, a plus. On to the food...waiter recommended the tenderloin. As an Indiana staple I am always in search for the next best fried, pounded out and breaded pork loin. Ding ding, we have a winner. Thing was a bit thicker than I like but was the most tender I've had, falling apart at times. Seemed double breaded and crunchy edges, made it for me. Went with the standard lettuce, onion, pickle, mayo add american cheese with the overhang dipped in mustard. Served on a soft brioche style bun. This one beats the RR Cafe in Mitchell In and carries the title until the next best is discovered. Recommend this place!"
