"Stopped by when traveling through and am glad to have done so. Food here is outstanding. In fact, the best fried perch I have ever had -- completely blows other competitors out of the water! The batter was light, crunchy, and delicate. The fish -- moist, seasoned well, and buttery soft, with the right crisp and crunch. Absolutely fantastic."

"This whole in the wall is a hidden gem on the near east side. Parking is the only downside to another wise memorable experience. I ordered the fried catfish sandwich and it is well seasoned, crunchy on the outside and flaky on the inside. The owner is very personable and entertaining. If you're in Martindale Bright wood neighborhood, check this place out."

"Was looking for fresh fish other than a chicken & fish eatery and found them. This place is really a gem! Everything was fresh to the taste & fried to perfection. The guy that took our order had great customer service. The establishment was very clean as well. Food was priced very fairly. Parking was a little weird & I had to drive past the place several times before deciding where to park. But I most definitely recommend them & will be coming back."

"The fish was OK. It didn't really have much flavor to it. The seasoned cornmeal breading wasn't bad. You could tell that they made an attempt to season, but the fish itself tasted like it may have been frozen, not fresh. The coleslaw, on the other hand, was very disappointing! It appeared that it had been frozen and unthawed, which left a very nasty slaw. It may have even been old, not sure we didn't taste it. As you can see from the pictures it was not appetizing at all! They were close to closing when we arrived, so perhaps we should have visited earlier in the day. However, I don't think we will visit again. We ordered the catfish fries and slaw, and we got chicken strips and fries for my daughter, which she didn't eat."
