"Very interesting German history."
"I have very little knowledge about Cullman, Alabama. After visiting the Ave Maria Grotto, our family decided to stop and learn more about Cullman in the Cullman County Museum. It was a worthwhile visit and very informative. The person who spent quite a bit of time with us was very knowledgeable about local history and a genealogy researcher as well. The German influence on Cullman is extensive and named after a man who emigrated to the area in the 19th century. Cullman County is younger than the State of Alabama. During the War Between the States, there were Union sympathizers who participated in the war as well as a larger number who were in the Confederate Army. The flags on display in the museum reflect some of this history as well as some of the documents on display. The museum also had an impressive display of arrowheads created by tribes in the area and a brief summary of some of the Indian history in the Cullman area. Overall, this museum is a resource for the community and well worth a visit."
"The gentlemen in the museum are very knowledgeable & friendly!! They really made my son's day by telling him even more facts about General Cullman & our beautiful little county!! The museum is very cute & has a lot of interesting artifacts!! I especially loved how General Cullman's room was still set up like he was just there yesterday!!"
"Very nice little museum with a good display of the history of the area. There was a quilt display on the second floor. Enjoyable."
"A really interesting place. I can't wait to see it when the renovations are finished."
