"Food is good but not always consistent. Sometimes the meat has been dry, almost like it was from the day before and reheated. If you get it fresh is pretty solid. Cost us up there, but good meat is expensive to make at home too."

"We received our order very quickly despite it being Father's Day and super busy. The employees were all friendly and courteous, and made sure a slight mistake in our order was corrected very quickly. I wish they had nametags so I could specifically congratulate them here. The food here is wonderful! They have super tender, well seasoned brisket that I'd definitely recommend, and the pulled pork was good as well. The hush puppies were really amazing and one of the highlights of our visit, but the fries could do with a bit more seasoning. I sampled the ribs and they tasted delicious. The side salad was decent. The portions were great for the price. Overall, I would definitely recommend City Barbeque and will definitely return."

"So far I'm here for one thing. The Baked Beans! Pretty freaking Great! Has big chunks of meat. Tangy tasty sauce for the beans. Not far from the interstate. The side of beans cost $3.20 including tax. Decent proportion. Next time I'm getting the BBQ. Then I will update my review."

"We had a really good experience at City BBQ Lafayette and would highly recommend. Some reviews said the food was dry and not worth it, but our experience was great. If you want to try a bit of everything, then get the city sampler. My wife and I split it and there’s plenty of food for two people. The brisket is amazing as well as the turkey. It all tasted pretty good to be honest. There’s plenty of sides to choose from but my recommendations are: baked beans, corn pudding and green beans. The staff was very friendly and provided recommendations on what to try. You can also get a free sample of anything before you order to see if that’s what you want. Somewhat pricier than most restaurants, but there wasn’t any line. The food came out fast, which is a plus with kids. There are some kids menu items available. The location is easy to get to about a mile off the interstate. It has plenty of parking in the big lot. Overall, if you like BBQ, then check it out for a quick BBQ meal."

"Today was my first visit at this establishment and the food was exceptionally good! I had a pulled chicken sandwich and the meat was juicy, tender and perfectly seasoned. I also had hush puppies. They were slightly overcooked but tolerable. My delicious sandwich made up for it! My husband had the brisket sandwich and greens and he had no complaints whatsoever. I like the fact that the customer adds their own bbq sauce to their food. Also, on Tuesdays they sell the 1 bone rib for $1.79 all day. We will definitely be returning!"
