"I had the Jerked 1/2 chicken dinner plate, the sides were yellow rice &beans and corn bread. It was very good. I was upset that I forgot to order some plantains, but I will be back."
"Ate here for the first time today. There was nothing that didn't taste amazing. MOJO chicken plate, jerk chicken plate, rice, Mac and cheese and the banana plantains, corn bread, slaw, beans...I mean it was all great! Super friendly service, music playing in the background cool table settings, we can't wait to go back."
"Mojo chicken was amazing, so good with slaw and tostones. I wanted to stay longer as the vibe was so fun and staff was helpful. I did think the beef empanadas would be more like Jamaican patties, but they are clearly not labeled that way, so that's on me."
"My experience at Caribbean Roots was positive. The communication on social media was superb and there was plenty of parking. The outdoor setup was inviting and nicely shaded from the sun. The cashier was very friendly and knowledgeable and the young guy stayed busy making the plantain, tostones, and empanadas to order. The lady of the business was handling the main orders while the man of the business was making moves to get everything setup and in order (day 1) and running the grill (day 2). I ordered two Chimi Mojo sandwiches with everything on the side so I could put it together myself. The sandwich consisted of hardwood pit-cooked mojo chicken with fresh made cilantro lime coleslaw. It also came with tostones plantain chips (platanitos fritos). I ordered a side of Caribbean mac and cheese, and it was sooo DELICIOUS!! I went back later and they had a Dj playing music that set the mood and made me smile. I went around 1:20pm and the wait was about 40 minutes. The young lady called me up for the wrong meal. I would probably suggest taking a name or give a number with the order to avoid confusion. I also saw the nice lady pour salt on the tostones directly from the commercial sized container. When I opened it up, it was way too much salt the was poured on them. I gently removed the excessive with my napkin, ate what I was able to and enjoyed the sandwich. (Day 2) I went back to get 2 half chicken dinners with mac and an order of sweet plantains. I will definitely be returning to get more mac and the Chimi Mojo. They were so flavorful! I will add more pictures and update the rating each time based off the most recent experience. Thanks for serving us, welcome to the community and I will see you all next week for round 2 of your half chicken dinner, :)!"
