"I have used this software for the last four tax seasons. The version I use is browser based. The software works fine for an experienced tax preparer. TaxProLink is re-branded version of the actual software vendor. TaxProLink used to be same price as the other guy. For 2022 they raised my price higher than the other guy. Next year I'm going to switch because of the price difference, it's the same software. Tech support for TaxProLink is good. They respond timely. However, the biggest drawback of TaxProLink is there is no help file, no documentation, and no source of procedures about how to handle some of the more uncommon tax situations. So I find myself in a situation where I know what I want to do in the tax return but not able to figure out how to do it in TaxProLink. If you come from Drake, Taxwise, or ATX, this is a very different experience. When I transitioned I ran one season using TaxProLink as secondary software to evaluate it. Considering the difference in price between say, Taxwise and TaxProLink, for me a few inconveniences are worth it. Value =5, Quality of Result =5, Tech Support =4, Ease of Use =3, Documentation =1."
"Usually tax software is produced by people who know tax laws and forms, etc. I had to tell them about a flaw in their software. It cost my client penalties (which I paid) because their programmers could not fix it quickly. I am a former programmer so I knew an 'if statement' would have fixed it. Instead they hard coded the information which meant other preparers' clients' returns would be in error. Also, they were only online. That was inconvenient when I wasn't at a location with Internet access."
