Reviews of Wilderness Resort
"My husband and I booked the king suite with the fireplace for two nights. It was very nice but can get toasty! Room was spacious, clean, and offered coffee. My husband likes brewing coffee when he wakes up so that is a plus. This would be a good vacation for a family with children. There is a ton of stuff to do. My husband and I checked out the adults only bars and areas which were a plus. We liked the indoor pools that lead to the outdoors. Food is definitely overpriced. It would be beneficial to rent a cabin and bring your own cooler full of food and drinks. Parking was very difficult to find. My husband and I spent over 20 minutes to try to find parking around 3 pm on a Saturday. Going on weekdays would be less crowded. Overall, a good visit. We spent time around the Dells and found other touristy things to do."
"We went to the Wilderness a couple weeks ago for my son’s birthday. This was by far one of the worse vacations I have ever been on - we were there for 3 nights. When we got there we were allowed to get wristbands but we couldn’t get into our room yet - so we had to use the locker room to get changed — it was hitter than a hot yoga room, we could hardly breathe. Then we had to pay $16 for a locker. The water at the resort was absolutely freezing and the excessive amounts of chlorine were terrible. Every water park was the same — I couldn’t be in the water for more than 5 minutes it was so cold and my son finally had to get out because his lips were blue and his teeth were chattering so hard. On day two my son had a terrible, painful rash from the chlorine — it was so bad he was scared to get in the water again. My eyes were burning terribly and I wasn’t in the water for very long. The hot tubs are all over crowded and not one life guard was watching the area. Stay clear - my son was pushed down into the water numerous times. And there are definitely kids in the hot tub that are too young - which is against the law. So you know what we had to do the rest of the time? Spend money in the other areas of the resort. The food and service at every outlet were terrible. Do NOT waste your time and money. Go off property if you want to eat. The front desk staff was rude to my family members that were coming there for day passes and when I complained to them on the second day about the coldness of the pool they said they would let a manager know and they would reach out to me — this NEVER happened. We paid for a birthday decoration - $25 - and it was two small streamers, three pieces of paper, and 4 helium balloons that were dead by the second day. The wristbands are a thin, cheap, scratchy elastic. Most resorts you go to have a soft, thick, comfortable band since you’ll be wearing it for so long - not here. I complained about all of this and you know what the manager offered me? A discount on my next visit. NO THANK YOU."
"I find it to be a very nice and fun place, especially if you're looking for a good place to stay for a vacation. There's also lots of space in the room I'm in and it's very relaxing and cozy. The TV also has good channels, and lots to choose from, depending on what you're into. The water parks are also a lot of fun, and there are great water slides, especially this fantastic and exciting water slide called "The Black Hole", that gives you quite a rush of an experience of being sucked into a black hole and being flushed down a toilet. There's also a really fun wave pool that has huge waves, and I really enjoyed myself there. This is one of the best hotels I've stayed in, and I've been in lots of good hotels and have been to great water parks."
"Was a lovely place. Me and my family hung out at the burger building the most as it was a nice huge table that could fit ~16 of us at it. The burgers weren’t the best we’ve ever had, but they were filling. The rooms were cleaned quite well, no complaints there. The smaller arcade is nice for little kids (I won a ball there). The larger arcade has cool Laser Tag, Mini Golf, and Rock Climbing. Definitely worth the costs."
