"Walk/Hike is no joke but reasonable for most with a few breaks. Bring water. View at top makes burning legs feel fresh. Awesome, awesome view. Walk down is a breeze."
"They are currently redoing the parking area so it should be nice going forward. Currently everyone is parking along the road wich is next to the parking area. Don't let it stop you this is an excellent fairly easy trail just over a mile round trip. It is up hill to start but the incline isn't terrible and it is shaded. The views are worth it at the top. Be careful of poison ivy along the way."
"There was a sign saying the trail was closed, but everyone just parked on the side of the road and walked. The people made their own trail and the rest of the way was great! Awesome views!"
"Definitely the most stunning views I've seen and I've been everywhere in the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore area. The water somehow is more shades of blue that it is a few miles down the coasts. I can't express how much I love this spot. The hike is pretty decent .. little kids won't make it without being carried one way or another and certainly not for elderly people. The pictures I post say the rest. It's heaven on earth with a view of North and South Manitou Islands!"
"Gorgeous and just pure magnificent. It’s a rather rewarding hike. You can get to the the top and see Lake Michigan quite easily and fast. About 30 mins I would say. But seriously consider not going down the dune. It looks like it is doable, but not really. Several people have already overestimated their capacity and were stuck at the bottom and need to wait for a helicopter which costs a lot."
