"Campsites we're raked by camp host. Very clean sites and fire pits. Pit toilets only but clean. Many sites have access to lake Michigan. We weren't up and over a small summer to get to the lake. Beautiful place. No electric sites. Bought ice and firewood at a local gas station."
"We camped here on Labor Day weekend. The campground is right between lake Michigan and highway 2 and very popular. The lake side campsites have private access to the beach, and there's a variety of sites, some on a ridge, some in a sandy bottom basin, some more private, and others more open to the main road. The campsites on the roadside are sometimes louder because of being closer to the highway. The host family this year was very friendly and helpful. The bathrooms and campsites were kept very clean."
"Excellent location for a pit-stop along our route to pictured rocks. Very pleasant campground with excellent star gazing opportunity. It is close to the highway and you can hear road noise. We pulled in exceptionally late and had no problems getting set up. Plus you cannot beat the gorgeous view of Lake Michigan!"
"My husband and I brought our camper out here for the Independence Day weekend all the way from Indiana. The space was lovely, well maintained and the bathroom/pit was kept clean, stocked and tidy. We stayed here for 3 nights and enjoyed what the upper peninsula had to offer including delicious fish dip and pasties at Lehtos. Yummy. St. Ignace is approximately 18 miles away south east down highway 2 and was a lovely small town next to the water and views of the Mackinaw bridge. The campground has it's own beach access area where you can climb down the ticket wooden steps to a lovely, rocky beach. If you are not staying at the campground there is a honor-system parking fee of $5. Well worth it. In case you are wondering we took the scenic highway roads coming up, avoiding highways on the GPS. Took about 10 hours. 8 had we taken the interstate. It was a wonderful drive and Michigan itself is a breathtaking state full of luscious greenery, wildlife and amazing wild pink flowers along the roads. I cannot wait to plan another trip up here."
"We loved staying here!! The sites are large and private. Beach was beautiful with sunset views. Road noise was there but not a problem for sleeping. We camped in mid-June and there was an abundance of these black bugs (see picture). They didn't bite, they just swarmed when stirred up."
