"We had an amazing camping experience at the Ontonagon Township Park and Campground. We visited for 10 days in mid-September. The bathrooms, showers, and grounds are very clean and well kept up. The very friendly staff really do go above and beyond to make your stay memorable. We felt fortunate to obtain a lake side site. They have a very fair system in place for people that want a lake side site. The prices are very reasonable for what you get. There is full electric and water. They even have a service that will pump your black/gray water tank for a small fee. The campground is close to Ontonagon which has everything you need while camping. We enjoyed eating at Syls. We enjoyed e-biking, kayaking, walking their beautiful sandy beach, visited the porcupine mountains (20 min away), cooking over the campfire, and seeing the amazing sunsets."
"Such a clean and fun place to come to. Close to town but not too close. Great views of the sunset too! This is a great Basecamp when going to the Porcupine mountains or if you want to hunt for some Yooper rocks!!"
"Splendid Sunsets with Sandy Beach (3/4 of campground). Very nice, well-maintained campground. Tony, the campground manager, was very nice and helpful. Sites are not reservable but you can call the morning of at 8am to check availability. They will save a site for you. Locals utilize this favorite campground a lot. Sites can be full most of the time as it was during our stay. The middle of the week was easier to get in. Stayed 3 nights on site 11. Site was great with a view of Lake Superior. It was mostly grass with some worn out areas we needed our rug for which is normal. Site was very level. We didnt need levelers. Our fire ring was an old tire rim which was cool. Smaller but good enough for a fire. They had a newer bathhouse with coin operated showers. (3 qrtr for 6 minutes). Dumpsite was functional and well spaced with adequate spacing to get out a large campground. The only downside was we were very far from the playground for kids. Itd be nice if they added another playground on the east side of the campground near the boat access. There are no laundry facilities on site so bring enough clothes. Weather is often cooler by Superior so bring sweaters for most everyday. Verizon, TMobile and AT&T all came in well. Everyone was friendly. Definitely would stay again. Very nice well designed campground with a Superior View!"
"Can't beat a campground on Lake Superior. I camped here a few summers ago in 2019. My experience here was very positive. The park and beach are not that large of an area. However, it is very beautiful like many spots off of the coast of Lake Superior are. At some of the sites, you need to cross a road in order to get to the bathrooms and the access to the beach and main office. That is where our campsite was located. The campsites right on the Lake are first come first serve. If those sites are full, you can put your name on a list for next in line for them. As for the beach, there are many colorful rocks. The sand is very coarse and kind of hurts your feet. Overall, I had a great time camping here."
"Beautiful campground on the shore of Lake Superior. Lakeside site let's you go to sleep with the sound of waves crashing on the shore. Wooded site with lots of room. Nice stone fire pit. Pit toilets next to our site (#4) were clean. Decent 4G cell service with Verizon."
