"I have used Midwest Refineries for several years. 90% of the time, I am surprised that the proceeds exceed my expectations. A little gold goes a long way. In other words, you can get a good bit of money for a relatively small amount of gold. I highly recommend them. My check is usually back to me within 10 days, and I live in GA (often within 7 days). Try them, you will like them!"
"I had a great experience with Midwest. Gary explained everything very well. I like they don’t charge fees and the process was so easy. I just wanted to thank you for your great service. They received my scrap on a Monday and my check was mailed on Tuesday. Very fast service I will definitely be referring people to Midwest"
"Was a little skeptical of mailing off gold as it just feels sketchy .. but i have heard many good things about midwest so i decided to give it a try and there payout is soooo much better then a we buy gold or pawn shop type place . The turn around was very fast . And the payout was very close to what i was expecting . Also the owner was very quick to respond to emails ... and very helpfull . I would highly reccomend them . And will only use them for all my gold & silver needs"
"What a great experience! Twice now! I separated rings and scrap metal into plastic bags marked sterling, fine silver or gold. And if I knew the carat of the gold, I dropped that into a separate labeled plastic bag. I shipped the box via priority mail on a Friday and literally, on the following Tuesday, I received a check in the mail! I don't know how the check could arrive so quickly! But both times it did. I highly recommend this place. The process is so EASY."
"I sent gold and silver to Midwest Refineries with a note saying I was a ‘first-time’ customer. Gary, the owner called me days later & left a voicemail calling my shipment “junk” and that he was rejecting the order. After calling back, he explained I had too many items that attracted a magnet in my silver baggie. Okay, I am a novice and my big mistake was sending in broken or unsure metal. Per the picture, much of my bag was filled with my own personal jewelry from the 80s, much with stones and/or broken. I did acid test many pieces and the line turned blue. My vintage spoons were marked sterling, too. As for the gold, he said he didn’t even look at the items- the magnet attracted the gold bag too, so none of the maybe 10 items were checked for gold weight either. I’ve read other reviews where he has taken out gold plated or gold filled items for other customers and still was able to fulfill some of their order. Not on mine. I accept my mistake and my $37 tuition I paid to send items to and fro, but just know that, as a new customer, minimal effort was made to make a good impression or educate me. Does the owner have time to go through my bag of silver? I guess not. He asked me if I wanted him to just trash the order. I said no way and I wrote a $25 check for FedEx shipping back. What happens to the trashed or rejected orders, I wonder? After almost 3 weeks I called to find out where my junk was… the female worker said she needed to research. Lo and behold, my jewelry was found in the vault and it would be mailed forthwith. My “junk” needed a signature verification from FedEx. Lol. I’ve heard great things about this company, but newbies beware…."
