"TLDR: I realized I wasn't fired for being rude, but for being autistic. I just want to make sure that you know that everything I got blamed for and fired for could have been fixed with reasonable accommodations I requested due to the ADA, and if I had just been listened to when speaking to my managers. It turns out I didn't need to "toughen up," I needed to learn about my PTSD and autism and what rights I have. I wasn't giving "attitude," I was confused and autistic and just asking questions to help me do my job. Customers have been denied reasonable accommodation here as well in the past, but hopefully things have changed since it has been a long time"
"We will never be back. I’ve never been more uncomfortable in a store. 2 sales associates followed my every move assuming I was going to steal. I’m beyond offended and we will never be back. Maybe the owner or manager has some mental issues as I see I am not the only one that has commented on their strange behavior. There merchandise is also complete junk."
"I go to traverse city almost every two weeks with my mom to go shopping and this used to be my fav store in TC until I realized that now when I started coming in the employees were following me and watching me like a vulture. but the reason I'm never going back is because a couple months ago I went by myself and bought a small clay whistle and the woman putting it in the bag dropped it behind the counter and it shattered. I demanded my money back and she began saying no refunds and that it wasn't her fault that it broke. I had already paid so I couldn't just choose not to give her the money now so I ended up leaving the store and never going back and I expect an email sent to me or a reply offering my seven dollars and fifty cents back"
"Nice selection of items and good prices, however staff is rude particularly the person with purple hair. I walked in and three people were standing around near the registers talking very obnoxiously about sensitive topics, such as suicide and mental health, and saying disrespectful things about people with autism. I was so uncomfortable that I put down my items I planned to purchase and left the store. There is a time and place for everything and those conversations should not be held in such public spaces."
"I stopped in to buy a few crystals and I was approached by an employee who asked if I needed any help, I politely declined and explained I was trying to decide between two stones. Then I was told if I don't buy the one in my hand it would be marked up in price and it was pretty off putting. It felt like I was being told to buy what I have or put it down. The bigger store is nice but the atmosphere is still the same as the smaller store, they think you'll steal everything."
