Reviews
"Frank Lloyd Wright's, Frederick C. Robie House is an architectural gem of extreme historic significance. Tours are available, and the gift shop has a great variety of items, with a friendly and knowledgeable staff."
"Better than expected tour! Lots of fun and cool to be in a Frank Lloyd Wright original. Tour guide was awesome."
"This was a fantastic tour! I love Frank Lloyd Wright and have visited multiple FLW sites. I would recommend booking this tour online. The guided tour of the house took about a hour and the tour guide was very knowledgeable. He explained the Prairie style of architecture very well and how the Robie House fit into this style. The tour of the house included all 3 levels and multiple rooms. Do not expect a fully furnished house; the emphasis is on the architecture. After the house tour, I took the self guided walking tour around the area (University of Chicago). The self guided tour lasted about 30 minutes and was done using audio phones. The self guided tour focused on other buildings and how their style compared to the Robie House. The gift shop is very well stocked but seemed overpriced BUT the funds do support FLW properties."
"Great tour of the inside. There is also an expanded tour that also does outside, but we didn't feel it was necessary. The inside tour is about 90 min. There are restrooms available. Frank Lloyd Wright designed a home near University of Chicago. The tour guide was knowledgeable and extremely versed in the history. It's great that a volunteer cares so much. Inside is in great condition. Only a little furniture so mostly it is an empty house. But that allows focusing on the building rather than decorations."
"Great FLW example. Ticket was costly, but the cost goes to restoration. Visiting this house inspired us to buy a book of his builds and visit as many as we could on our journey home. The tour guide was very knowledgeable and the tour was engaging."
