About the River Raisin National Battlefield Park Visitor Center
The River Raisin National Battlefield Park Visitor Center, located at 333 North Dixie Highway in Monroe, Michigan, is a travel agency that offers a unique historical experience. The center preserves, commemorates, and interprets the January 1813 battles of the War of 1812 and their aftermath. These battles resulted in a significant victory for Tecumseh’s Confederation and the British, as well as a major defeat for the U.S. The aftermath of these battles led to the implementation of U.S. Indian laws that forced the removal, relocation, and assimilation of native nations, a legacy that still impacts us today. Visit the center to learn more about this important chapter in American history.

Reviews of River Raisin National Battlefield Park Visitor Center
"This is a nice little visitor center and gift shop that looks pretty new. I only had enough time to look around quickly while doing my junior ranger book. It looks like there was a driving tour of the battlefields you could do, and you could buy a guidebook there. The battlefield is part of the river raisin heritage trail system, which you can bike/ walk/run along the river around a few different parks."
"History rocks! Good bad and the truly ugly, it’s important we remember and learn. Family friendly experience in Monroe Michigan!"
"Had a wonderful experience visiting yesterday. Ranger Moore was very informative and friendly. Walked the grounds and took a lot of photos."
"The RRNBP Visitor Center provides a fascinating and engaging visitor experience about the War of 1812, the battles for control of Michigan and the Great Lakes, and importantly the Native American perspective, culture and aftermath. Be sure and see the movie in the visitor center theater!!"
"New Visitors Center, however, not a huge number of displays. We learned more walking through the battlefield area outside. They just moved locations recently so maybe they are still transitioning?! The visitors center does have air conditioning, restrooms and a gift shop. Looks like they have nice conference rooms."
