Reviews of Old Log Resort & Campground
"Came here deer hunting in 1974....a memory that has stuck with me thru life....deer hunting with a childhood friend who has since past....tried occasionally to reserve a stay here but they are generally booked....now that I am retired I found, if you can get here at the right time...fall or, during the week..it's much easier.....have been here twice this month.....love it the owners are awesome folks....clean, very reasonable!!.......cabins or campsites......I will be a regular from here out!.......oh, it's also right on the Muskegon River!-"
"Just spent the weekend at the campground again and like always it was great! I've been going to the Old Log Resort for years and love this place! Great little campground and canoe livery on the Muskegon River. Owners Heather and Mike are great hosts and run a well-oiled machine! One of my biggest gripes of most all campgrounds are the bathrooms. Let me tell you, their bathrooms and showers are cleaner than in most people's homes! Heather is on top of it like no other! Almost every time I went to use the bathroom she was going in to clean or just to make sure they were clean. That in itself is a HUGE plus for me. It's a small family run campground that really makes you feel at home. Been to so many Campgrounds and this is by far my favorite place to go! Keep up the great work guys! Hope to come up AGAIN this year!"
"I have not stayed here. But i have paid to park my car there so that i could get out of the river there. Which you also pay to get out there. Which is fine. But i don't understand why they allow it. The owner always acts so annoyed by us coming in. We don't drink so we aren't a rowdy bunch. I've never seen a ruder person. I can't believe that anybody would want to ever stay there! She does not hide her disgust.. I would never recommend this place to anyone. There are many better campgrounds around"
"We found this campground earlier this year while staying in a hotel down the road from them. Heather and Mike are the owners they are fantastic people. Great find small campground great kayaking. Beautiful scenery. We had our 73 Apache Mesa camper (Delores) here last week. Easy in and out of the campsite. Will definitely be back."
"Mike and Heather are amazing hosts! We go there twice every year with a large group and canoe down the river. It is always a great experience and we are very happy to spend time there. The river is beautiful, the campground is super nice. They are located at the exit point of the canoe trip on the river. I can't speak to the rooms, because we stay in our camper. They have modern campsites with 30 amp service and a fill/dump station. Great place to stay and enjoy the amazing Muskegon river. The clubhouse is super nice with games, stove and microwave. The bathrooms are very nice and very clean."
