Reviews
"Visited the Hippie Tree expecting a mystical experience. Instead, got whispered life advice by a squirrel. Not sure if enlightened or just in a Disney movie."
"I visited late in the day, but it’s definitely an interesting place to visit. Because of the hill you practically don’t see anything unusual until you’re already surrounded by painted trees. The big tree must’ve been spectacular when it was whole, but even it’s ruins are impressive. The general area is made into a riot of color by all the different spray painted branches, and it probably looks good any time of the year. Visiting here was a nice little distraction."
"A bunch of down trees with spray paint. Worth a short hike. I suggest not to park at school but park at the Botanic Garden at Historic Barns Park and hike from there so you can also look at the beautiful garden and buildings."
"When i travel i like to find hidden gems and unique places. This time, visiting my brither in Traverse City we ventured to look for the Hippie Tree which is a giant tree that was painted by humans to make it look fun and hippie. To me it was fun but nothing special even though i’m happy i went to check it out!!!"
