"We called to inquire about selling our home. We really weren't even serious but with the housing market improving thought we would see where we were. They sent someone right out to give us an estimated selling price. The price they gave was EXACTLY THE SAME PRICE THAT ZILLOW HAD BTW, which seemed too good to be true. We decided to proceed. They next sent Michelle out to get us to sign the sellers agreement. Michelle then informed us that the selling price was too high and we would need to reduce it by $40,000 dollars. She said at that price (the price that we were told initially which was the same value Zillow estimated) it'll take too long to sell, if we lowered it $40k though maybe someone would bid above asking price. What kind of strategy is that!?!? The idea behind selling is to maximize equity, not to lower the price so much that the house sells itself, I can do that on my own without a realtor! This was obviously unacceptable but in Michelle's mind her ease of weaseling a commission out of a hard working family outweighed the needs of a hardworking family to have a place to live. She lied repeatedly and when she was called out on her lies blamed someone else for using her mouth to lie... it was ridiculous, like talking to a child who refuses to believe they've been caught in a lie. We refused to lower our asking price and a couple days later got a text from her that we were unrealistic for listing the house at the price we were initially told (which is again the only reason we even considered selling in the first place). Then she sent a picture of a house that was half the size of ours and with no modern updates in the same area that was listed for the same price she wanted us to lower our price to.... Be careful with these people. They are crooks. They are trying to trick people into selling well below actual market value so they can just hurry up and earn a commission."
