Reviews
"Really cool place for birders, or for anyone who just wants a stroll through woodland and grassland habitats for migratory birds! (Although I only identified an American Robin, a house Finch, and a red winged blackbird)"
"Great place to bird watch. Little community library. Shelters to sit in. Nicely done paths to walk. Good place to spend an hour with the kids."
"Love the santuary! It is a regular destination of mine for walks. It's so peaceful I can spend hours there. I love to watch the sky turn pink, while listening to the animals and birds talk amongst themselves."
"Westchester Bird Sanctuary is a hidden gem for bird watching in the middle Chesterton right cross from Westchester Intermediate School. The trails are short and well groomed with seating looking out on the wetland. There is educational signage throughout. I visited there on Sept 21, 2019 for the grand opening and enjoyed it very much. Hats off to all the volunteers who reclaimed this land and made it into a free wildlife sanctuary for all to enjoy!"
"Checked part of Bluebird trail . 1 bluebird nest 4 babies. 2 tree swallows nest and 2 wren nest . Also saw 2 baby fawns."
