"The Brown Mansion is full of history and lots of spirit activity. The curators love giving free tours and are very passionate about the history!"
"I went there for information on an old property in woodville and they even found the year it was built 1882 !! Great people!!!"
"Really neat that they are collecting history of Chesterton and cataloging the items. We gave my mom's 1945 CHS diploma and senior picture to them. They did not have year books during WWII. Had leather covers for their diploma. Items are treated with respect."
"The curators were very friendly and helpful searching for information I was looking for on my family. They were very Knowledgable of museum and exhibit in lower level were great, throughly enjoyed Brown Mansion."
"This museum is beautifully restored and decorated with period furnishings. Our tour guide was excellent and told us all about the history of the house, Chesterton, and the township which we found it very interesting. Besides the restored sections of the house (formerly the school district administration building) there is also a modern and beautifully cuerated museum of local history that is child-friendly, if not targeted at children. Both sections are highly recommended; the restored mansion as well as the history museum. There is a wheelchair accessible ramp into the history museum section, but there is no ramp available for the half-stairs up to the restored mansion. Also no elevator to the upper floors."
