"EDIT: Problem Solved with New Management! After two years of constant cigarette smoke inside from neighboring apartments I am happy to say that this issue has been resolved. In 2023 the property received a new manager Joseph Allen, so I decided to bring this issue forward to him. His responses were timely and professional. More importantly, he put a stop to the indoor tobacco smoking. Kudos Joseph! Cigarettes inside!! Second hand smoke!!! I have lived in this community for about a year and a half. The first year was quite and I really enjoyed living here. Darien on the maintenance staff is quick to respond and always nice. Sophia at the front desk is very nice and always responds quickly. Recently however, living here has become unbearable. I have had a neighbor move in below me who smokes cigarettes indoors pretty much non-stop. The smoke is coming up into my unit in my bathroom and bedroom closet. The smoke is saturating everything in my apartment especially all of my cloths in my closet. I work in healthcare and it is inappropriate for me to go into work to provide patient care while smelling like smoke. Not to mention the known health risks of breathing in second hand smoke. I have complained about five times since the start of the smoking. Communication has been via email with Danielle the manager. I sited the lease contract, which states that management holds that right to order tenants to cease and desist smoking if it is disturbing the peace of a neighbor. Her overall response has been non-urgent and comes off like she is not willing to help. I have offered for her to come into my unit to evaluate what’s going on multiple times, all of which she has refused. I have offered other solutions that I think may help like caulking the areas where air is flowing in from below, which was ignored. To give you and idea of her response time, my latest email was sent on 12/27/22 and she has not responded yet. She has only proactively reached out to me once regarding the issue. While I have tried to provide solutions she has not provided one. Her response is that it will take time and that they have given warnings. At what point will The Village Club take action against someone who is clearly disregarding their orders to cease and desist? It is not safe to be breathing in second hand smoke 24/7 and I am concerned for my health. Overall, I went from enjoying living in this community to counting down the days to when I can leave. When you sign that lease know that you will be locked into a contract with an apartment complex that does not enforce or follow it. Know that you and your family could be forced to breath in second hand smoke 24/7 with no help. Know that response time from the manager will be slow and she will not be eager to help. The worst part is that the automated response on this review will be faster than Danielle is to my emails."
"0 STAR! Totally wasted my time! Wgt restriction of pet 35lbs! NOT stated on site I found their property listing. No excuses please! You're a business, act like one. Complex also looked run down, did not even view units. Hard PASS!"
"Single female, 30years old. Rented for 1 year 2022-2023. First apartment flooded within 1 week of move in and was moved to second apartment. That flooded extensively as well. Facilities are old and not kept up including laundry facilities being unclean and broken much of the time. The door to my building was constantly broken. After move out, I did not receive the security deposit within 30 days as legally required and am STILL trying to get an explanation of the charges taken out of the security deposit 2 months later. Do not lease from this company/location as this is the worst customer experience I’ve had in a long time."
"Do not live here!!! The first floor of almost every building floods constantly. We had 3 within the span of a month. Multiple inches of water throughout the entire apartment. The first time it was horrible and took over 24 hours to receive any word from the staff. Management seems to have gotten better with the new manager however they can’t fix the problem that will never be able to be fixed. We still had to clean because their “cleaning” process was wiping the floor with a rag. It was not liveable in any way. I can’t imagine there isn’t mold, and rotting woods from the profuse flooding over and over again each spring. Be cautious!!!"
