"Hillcrest has been a wonderful place to live so far! I have been here 2 months now, the apartment is spacious, cozy and private. Management is on top of things and everyone has been really kind. Great price for a great apartment. Absolutely recommend to rent here!"
"Fairly good at staying out of the way and fixing issues when they arrive. It's a good home for me and may be for you too. Only complaint could be the small kitchen... But that's not really much of an issue."
"hillcrest is my first apartment and we are now on our second lease term. My boyfriend and I have enjoyed our time here , the apartments are older and need some work but a little decorating and love you can make this place a home. It’s a roof over our head at the end of the day. The management isn’t perfect but what management is ? They do their best , with who and what they have , sometimes it’s a struggle to get ahold of them but they will always make sure they call you back or shoot a message to make sure your taken care of. Maintenance guys are friendly , and respectful and quiet when they work. The team had made the complex look so beautiful this summer. The girls in the office are sweet especially Landry, everytime I have a question she answers it for me or helps me with whatever I need done . Mrs Dee is a wonderful property manager she’s always makes things work out in our favor when something does happen. I have no complaints about Hillcrest because anything that is wrong can easily be fixed by a phone call or maintenance request we’re just greatful to be here . thank you Hillcrest ."
"Starting off from the beginning. This was a complete disaster from the start. They change their staff every 6/7 months- every time the staff changes, it’s always the same thing. Rude people entitled and treating residents like garbage. 1 thing that hasn’t changed? The fact they NEVER answer the phone- I see now they call people back. Which is a step in the right direction. It’s pure insanity to me that they get away with not being open any set hours either. One week it will be 10-6, next will be 1-2 they tell you like 2 days in advance when they will be closed. It’s hit or miss if they let you know you have packages- and don’t forget you sometimes can pick up your significant others packages for them. The maintenance staff went from honest and trustworthy- not perfect at fixing everything. To straight up nasty and untrustworthy. They leave cigarette butts in your apartment after they do random checks and just walk in your apartment without knocking at all! And don’t even get me started about winter. They say they plow and salt. But they have a small tractor the size of a gator/golf cart to plow all of hillcrest and oak wood. They barely ever salt. And when you fall- they blame you. Don’t forget they throw purple salt ALL OVER YOUR CAR. i had to get weekly car washes due to all the salt they would just put all over your car. They enforce no rules about quiet hours, or aggressive dogs. I was almost mauled by my neighbors aggressive dogs and after -more than enough- complaints they did NOTHING. And they still live on the property! Even though they are over the weight limit and go against the breed restrictions. Also, don’t use their heat vents! Our 1st year in the apartment it was over 400 dollars a month to heat it- keeping our apartment around 60 degrees all winter. After multiple calls to consumers energy they came out and did a property and meter assessment and said they had no idea how it was so expensive. We finally came to use a small space heater and for less than 100 dollars kept our apartment around 70 All winter. What a shocker! when we showed the staff our research they laughed and told us we needed to tape our windows with a box of plastic seal they gave us. Which led to all our windows growing MOLD. I had them come out and look at that too- and they said it was due to the windows needing to be resealed. Which they never came to do. What they need to do is gut the apartments and start over. A friend of ours had her window FALL OUT of her apartment when she was at work. Now to the floors, about 1/2 a year into living there our floor starts to let these giant staples come out of the floors- yikes. When we had them come look at that. They told us just to rip them out of the floor if it kept happening. Leaving giant holes in the flooring."
"Genuinely the worst apartment living expierence I've had. If this review could be a 0 it would. From managers who brush off serious problems to office staff who can't read a name on a package the whole staff is incompetent. The amount of times maintenance would show up to my apartment when I never put in a request was astounding. Yet maintenance only came once in the whole year to fix up previous problems from before move in. The state of these apartments is well below the bare minimum and leave much to be desired. No dishwasher, 3 washers and dryers PER 2 BUILDINGS, central AC and matching bedroom doors are just the start to a simple list. The office explains the erroneous pricing as "market value"; if it was truly market value then these would have to be much nicer apartments. The cheap hardwood floors that scratch too easily and show dirt very well isn't a selling point. The fridge is too big to open and hits the wall in the very cramped kitchen. My apartment came with 2 cigarette burns from the previous tenants, one in the couch and the other in the cheap sink. 485 Sq ft is the smallest living space I've ever been in and this is the 2nd most expensive place I've lived next to a house. Save yourself or your kids the headache and let this place die. It'd benefit from being bought out again and cleaning house. Don't rent here."
