"Worked there over 10 yrs ago through a temp agency and got laid off so I thought I would reapply and they said I'm not eligible for rehire because I stopped coming to work.lol. I remember the day because it was right before Christmas and I made a Facebook post about it. Either Herman Miller lied or adecco either way not professional and I'll make sure people know about both of them before applying"
"Okay place to work, great benefits. The fact that they shut down an entire plant in order to kill a preexisting union in a place they purchased once they became inconvenient is garbage, though. Glad they lost their government contract to Steelcase once upon a time. But, otherwise? Yeah, sure, they're fine. Most businesses are evil regardless. Whatcha gonna do?"
"Very good company to work for, however I do not recommend unless you are comfortable doing the same exact thing over and over again, earning slightly over a livable wage and counting the seconds until you can go home and start over tomorrow. Until factory work is compensated more fairly in a world of rising prices, I would suggest the dinning service industry or a retail position for those lacking formal education such as myself."
"Unloading here is always easy anyone delivering coils they stop unloading at 2 PM but sometimes wait if your running a little late dont follow signs for coil recieving the dock door is w 241 to get unloaded"
"Over the years we've purchased an Eames Lounge Chair, a bunch of molded plastic chairs and two molded plywood chairs. Both of our molded plywood chairs broke after 5 years, despite not getting all that much use. I called about repair and was told "you can't do it yourself because we use special adhesive and heat". The quote they gave me to repair the chairs was $250 / each, which is absurd. If I shop at Ikea I know what I'm getting - a somewhat disposable product that isn't worth repairing. When I buy a plywood chair for $800 I expect that it will be free of manufacturing defects or, if not, that the company will stand behind it. It is very disappointing to me that the best Herman Miller can do is to hand us a $500 repair bill for their poorly-made molded plywood chairs. We have had no problems with our Eames Lounge chair (which gets used every day) but if we do I guess we're in trouble. I would steer clear of this company."
