"Been here many times and never had an issue. Staff has always been kind & helpful. I was in the other day to return a Charter Spectrum modem & the guy informed me that they are not "The UPS Store" so they can't take the equipment, box it and label it for free like they would at The UPS Store; the closest one is in Marquette, so I need to have Charter send me a box & label. Anyway, the guy was helpful and friendly. Will ship here again. The outdoor UPS & FedEx drop boxes are super handy."

"Bring your kids here and show them what shipping a package was like back in the 1990s! Cumbersome paper forms, slow staff, looking things up in hard copy manuals, mysterious ripoff pricing, and not a computer or barcode reader anywhere on site. They say they will email you your tracking number, but they never do. It's like going back in time. This whole operation really is as horrible as all the negative reviews here say."

"Needed to drop off 2 boxes which were already prepared for shipping. I walked into the shop, which had a lineup of customers. I placed my boxes down and the clerk screams at me from the front of the store "Don't put that there". Needless to say after she screamed at me I waited in line to hand deliver the packages and she just tossed them to the side. As of today, my packages are lost in the system. I will never do any business with them again. We need a more customer friendly service. If they are not happy with doing business with the public, sell the business. Sad to be happening in our community."

"I'm seeing a lot of comments saying this place will try to overcharge you, and I've found that to be true. The older woman with short white hair signed me up for one day shipping without asking if that was what I wanted, and I saw that she put down a heavier weight than my package actually was. She was pushy and unhelpful. After all that my package arrived late, too."

"Prior to making a purchase at an antique shop in Northern UP Michigan, I called the Shipping Shop in Houghton, MI to get a packing/shipping cost. I was given a cost of $106 to pack and ship my item. I questioned the Shipping Shop lady on the phone about different shipping options because $106 seemed pretty expensive for what I was planning to ship. She said that she checked multiple shipping options and the $106 option was the only way that she could pack and ship it. I live 6 hours away, so I figured that I would go ahead with my purchase and have the Shipping Shop pack and ship my purchase. An hour after my purchase was dropped off at the shipping shop, I received a call from the Shipping Shop...they were out of packing peanuts, would I mind it my purchase was delayed by a couple days, which was fine as long as my purchase made it to me in one piece. Also during my conversation with the Shipping Shop gentleman, he very quickly mentioned $180 something while he was talking fast. I stopped him and questioned him - "what did you say about $180 something". Oh, that is the cost to pack and ship your item, he said. I informed him that I had just received a shipping cost of $106 from a lady at his store. Oh yes, he said - that was just an estimate - It is $180+ now and more if you want insurance. If you don't want to ship it now, you will owe me $46 for packaging it. What a scam!! The gentleman knew that he had me over a barrel and I didn't have a lot of choices. So, I ended up paying an extra $80 over their initial quote. I will never consider doing business with the Shipping Shop again...NEVER!"
