Rooted Red Birth Green is a health institution located at 505 East Kalamazoo Avenue in Kalamazoo, Michigan, United States. Our focus is on birth justice, providing resources and support services during pregnancy and the first year postpartum, with a special emphasis on Black and Indigenous People of Color. Our goal is to reduce barriers and risk factors faced by many individuals seeking healthcare and support during pregnancy, birth, and postpartum.

Established in 2016 as the Rootead Doula Collective, Red Birth Green (RBG) addresses Black infant mortality through community care and traditional healing practices. Our mission is to provide equitable access and care to all individuals in the Kalamazoo area. Our team, founded and led by Women of Color, offers comprehensive community care for the modern age.

At RBG, we embrace the principle of Sankofa, combining traditional healing practices and collectivism with modern standards of care. We meet our clients without judgment, empowering families to advocate for themselves through shared knowledge and connections. Our team of doulas, including Stephanie, Brittany, and Kijah, are dedicated to supporting empowered and peaceful pregnancy, birth, and postpartum experiences for all individuals.

We offer a range of services, including workshops on Maternal Child Health, lactation counseling, and doula support. Our Perinatal Safe Spot provides a space for women and families to connect and find support, utilizing the four tenets of The JJ Way® model of care: access, connections, knowledge, and empowerment.
