"Absolutely beautiful place for a quiet walk in the woods to observe nature and enjoy creation."
"Dogs are not allowed. Despite dogs 15000 year history with indigenous people in this area, the. Michigan Nature Association has banned them from this land."
"Really nice site for Trillium and other Wildflowers. Rachel and Curtis were on the trail to eliminate Invasive Species (Garlic Mustard). They are part of the SW Michigan MNA Stewardship. Update 2023. The Trillium were scarce at best and compared to Trillium Ravine nearby, this seems odd. Also, the trails really need work especially replacing the planks in low wet areas. The boards are tippy, rotting and dangerous. At one point it was impossible to procede because the boards were gone or just kaput. Nice place if it's dry which is NOT in Trillium season, so why go here? Go to Trillium Ravine."
"New side trail has been added. Nice walk, not too long. The boardwalk is being updated."
"Dowagiac Woods Nature Preserve is well known for its spring time flower display. It’s been on my list for a revisit this year for a while but today was a perfect day free quick 1.5 mile hike through the wildflowers in this preserve. this is a Michigan nature preserve property and I’m not sure exactly how much mileage you can get in here however I do know that at 1.5 miles I barely scratch the surface. OK good variety of terrain and echo systems with some swamp wetland, river, and forest. Trails are well marked, mostly packed dirt and or boardwalk. The trails are mostly single person wide. This preserve is not handicap accessible, it is kid friendly, posted no pets. It is free, and there is a decent size parking lot. Map and rule pictures at the end of the photos."
