"Love this place! One of my favorite camping spots. Very buggy lol and not much for fire wood so pack some in! Excellent views of the lake, definitely a repeat"
"Great place for a backpacking trip however lots of people have left their trash all over, very disappointing. Come on people, leave no trace! Back again! February 2023 winter camping. We have been helping clean up every time we go noticing less trash these days. Keep up the good practices, leave no trace!"
"Sand Lakes Quiet Area connects to the North Country Trail and from there you can hike to North Dakota or Vermont! The Sand Lakes have pristine crystal clear water. Trails are well marked and offer miles of moderately easy hiking. Michigan Park Pass required for entry and can be paid for at trailhead information sign. Outhouse available at trailhead. Ample parking."
"Good Trail marking with a map at each intersection. Not a great area for photo's unless the spring wildflowers are blooming. The lakes are wild and many covered with Duckweed so not especially picturesque. I saw runners and hikers in abundance so it must be popular."
"Great place for a hike. The trails are well-marked, well-maintained, and easy to follow. Equally important, it is easy to get back to the parking area. Miles of trails to choose from. Great in summer when the weather is nice, and in the winter for skiing and snowshoeing."
