Mackinac Island Ferry Company - Star Line - St. Ignace Dock #1

"Everything runs like clockwork. Right on time. Parking was free. Don't get confused by all the dock #s. Leaves from St Ignas at DOCK 3 and returns to DOCK 3. There is some confusing signage. Buying tickets on your phone does not really provide any advantage. You still have to go to the ticket counter and get a printed ticket. The boat dock on the island is right in the middle of all the action on Main Street."

"We’ve got tickets in advance to make everything easier and smooth for us as we were traveling in our car from New York, we got there at 9:30 pm the last ferry departure is 10 pm. We’ve paid $50 for valet parking for one night online and when we got there they wanted to charge an extra $50 because is daily parking even tho we were going back the very next day before sunset so we were not going to spend even 24 hrs in the island. The lady make us park our car like half mile away without returning our money because she was not allowed to do so. We walked all the way back from the parking lot to the pier to take the ferry. The lady behind the window was covering three different positions during her shift maybe that was something that make her do all more complicated than what it should be. Next time we will take the other company ferry, ir cost more but it definitely worth it because we actually went there by mistake before arriving to the mackinaw island ferry company and the way that the welcomed us was “exclusive”. Island is beautiful and their people too but just this horrible experience at 10 pm was the worst !!!!"

"Unique tour on Lake Superior...it's all about the water and rocks and how they have created a unique set of cliffs. Good tour narration. Limited soft drinks. Dress appropriately if you want to be outside during the cruise as Superior can be COLD."
